ACCLIMATING MY PLANTS TO THE OUTDOOR LIGHT SCHDEULE

So on YouTube I've been learning from kaligrownbuds to acclimate my plants to the outdoor light schedule by lowering my hours of light and raising the hours of darkness...
• I started off with 18 on 6 off
• changed it to 17/7 on april 10th
• planning on changing it to 16/ 8 on April 25th then change it to 15/9 on may 8th...
Is this a good way to acclimate your plants to the outdoor light schedule or should you just put them out there after being on 18 / 6 and just harden them off?

if you lower your light schedule slowly then they will start to flower and produce buds so it's totally up to you. i would go for that method if i was looking to flower them but if you want to keep them in veg then i would stick to the 18/6 light schedule

Edit: and you can just stick them out there in the wild, they will adapt very fast

Right ok yeah because last year I threw them out there under 18-6 and they did fine idk why im trying to do something differnt this year ... kaligrownbuds on youtube said the opposite he said that they will start to preflower if you just throw them out there under 18 - 6 so clearly people have mixed opinions on this

That dude isnt quite all there in the head. Some good info some bad. His plants flowered inside this year cuz he had them under 14/10. Just run 18/6 or the 17/7 and toss them out when the weather gets good enough they will be fine. The shorter days are made up for by the fact that they are increasing in length.

You should both lower your light schedual and harden them off. Hardening them off is important so they dont get the full force of the sun after being under artificial lights. Even if the sun doesnt burn them it still stresses the plant out.

I def understand the whole hardening them off part by keeping them under the shade for a week then giving them the full sunlight and putting them out there ... but what my main concern is the hours I should be giving them right now I've had people tell me to lower it but alot of people are saying just keep it at 18 - 6 then harden them off once the weather is warm enough...

I get mine down to 18 or 16 depending on the yr. Closer is always better just to be on the safe side. Thing I've learned is some genetics and even phenos are more light sensitive then others.

Wont hurt to take a machete to them if you want. Chop them way down, they will grow back.
