Is treetop growing a good idea?

Years ago, looking into soil amendment, I stumbled on a thread of tree top growing.
Using green drainage pipes as pots,
Quite tall and suspended w pulleys.
Were lowered to water.
Camouflaged w sticks and branches tied around it.

I never saw pictures or found out how it went.

Sorry about hijacking your thread, OP. I'll leave it alone (pun intended) and will continue to follow hoping to hear of your progress.

I have been thinking for a while of starting a grow up in a tree, to bring up some 15 liter pots than germinate some seeds indoor and put them in the pots up in the tree with some netting above to protect them from direct sunlight
Do you think it might work or is just a waste of money ?

This is too funny, first I saw someone peeing on weed in a thread and now we want to grow weed in trees. I love it!!!

I don't know how many times I tell these kids that pissing on your cannabis does NOT keep animals at bay (nor does it make it taste better) ;)

all jokes aside, I think growing weed , and even living in a tree would be a very cool concept. It has definitely been done before, and there is not much info on it. I think it is a cool concept!

I heard about growers doing this many years ago in Hawaii.
You install a platform with ropes and pulleys that you conceal on the tree.
When you need to water you can lower the platform.
Keeps the critters and snoops away and would allow you to grow in a forest.
No need to clear trees.

this was my first thought too!
I would be worried about bud worms where I live new england east coast US they always are there. I couldn't imagine actually being IN the tree. I'm already scared to put my outdoors under trees later season

If you are an arborist and like climbing trees, I guess you would know which tree to plant it in and how to get up there with stuff, if thats your steez

Now that might be viable
