Air flow speed

should I slow down the speed of my 4” exhaust fan using a fan controller while I’m in vegetation stage or just run it full blast 24/7?
The fans max airflow is 187 m3/hour.

What speed is optimal during vegetation and flowering phase?
I have a 2x2 tent with Mars Hydro 600 LED

I like to have mine on as low as possible, just enough so there is slight negative air pressure in the tent (ie. the sides suck in toward the centre of the tent).

If you have excessive heat, you may need to turn it higher.

My fan speed is predicated on the temp of my tent. I keep my tent around 80 degrees during Veg. My exhaust is controlled by my temp controller, so if temps go above 80, the fan speed increases to bring it back down.

What temperature controller do you use?

I just bought a rhino silent fan contoller, it was more pricey than the cheap ones but produces no hum, no need to wire just plug and go. There’s 2 types of controllers, the cheap ones under 80buck are crap and hum like mad when you turn them down, anything above the 100 buck mark has no hum. And worth it. If your good with electrics you can get cheaper options but research them online loads of cheap ones that are good if you know your stuff.

Wow, those are really nice controllers.
A variac with a temp controller.
Really can't stand that chopped AC hum using the cheap controllers. Couldn't even take a nap with 2 cheap controllers running.

A 2x2 is 4sqft....lets say its 5ft tall thats 20cft air. Your fan can run at 190 maybe....90cft with a filter attached. Per Minute fyi
Air exchange can be very low in early veg and needs to go up as the plants grow. Heat also can create the need for more.

In full flower with a full tent you want to exchange the air every minute or 2 or 3 or so, depends upon your setup.
At full blast you exchange air 4x a minute or more, thats a lot more than needed but not bad if it isnt causing problems.
I would think in a 2x2 at full blast it would suck the sides in real bad.
