Small bedroom grow first grow I have ever done.

My third bedroom witch is just taking up space right now as my second roommate moved out is going to be converted into a grow room. here is what I am thinking. I would like feedback from seasoned growers as this will be my first grow.

The room is 9' by 11' with a closet space that is 2' by 4'. I have an electrician coming to install a 50w breaker in the room so I have ample power for all my systems. I will be wrapping my room with panda film. inside the closet space I will be setting up a propagation space with some CFL's.

I will be running a 36 bucket ebb & grow system with 55 gal reservoir for my hydroponics. For the water drum i will have a 3 way monitoring system for temp PH and nutrient content.

My lighting will be4x 600w HPS lights with Daystar air cooled reflectors and lumatek digital ballast's. I will arange lights so each light has nine plants underneeth them.

Air flow system will be 1 large shop fan 18" and two 12" ossolating fans. Ventliation will be run from my window witch I will pump out air thoguh a Can filter. Also I will be running a Danby 3 in 1 humidifyer dehumidifyer air purifyer unit.


I am looking for advice as far as what straings might be good for a first time grower with a setup like this. I was thinking about growing Big Bud or Northern Lights.

Also this is my initial setup I have included pix of my room i just started ripping the carpet out but my electrition comes over tomorow so I cant start Building untill he is finished installing the new Circit.

Also feel free to leave questions or comments and also sugestions.

Looking at your walls. I'm guessing you live in a high humidity area. Venting will be very important. Am curious about your thoughts behind your set up. Why did you derive at 4x600W rather than 2x 1000?
I'm also interested in your 3 way monitoring system you mentioned. Sounds like a nice plan though. Can't wait to get more of my room up and going. Have any prints drawn up? Be blessed man! And good luck!

I prolly woulda went with 4 600W too instead of only 2 1000W. If hes running a 36 plant system , I would probably want to be able to have 4 different lights covering 9 plants each instead of 2 lights covering 18 each. Just my opinion though.

But yea back to the comment for the thread maker, id bleach that entire room down.

Personally speaking I'm in the process of doing the same thing with a room almost the same size .

But i have been following a Grower on here for about 6 months and he has a Great . Aero/Nft setup with Direction and plans step by step . Screen name stinkbud.

Awesome guy and Very knowledge. I love the 4/600w great choice but check him out for a Perputal Harvest using a Homebuild Aero setup with cloner and Veg units for a Pound or more every 3 week. Fully Organic .

Read the whole post . Plans and direction are out for cloner and veg. Flowering system are comming this week end.

i just love indica 'cuz i can take off fans and sometime don't have to take off much else ! try that with some sativas...

so, i would say anything that grows like a indica (short, squat, fat, broad, thick, resinous, compact, etc.) and still is hybrid enough to give you some of the 'sativa-type' highs.

If only a pure indica could give a pure sativa type high. Not that i dislike being knocked on my ass, but sometimes being motivated is also nice.

Nice setup. I like ur choices. I'm sure you'll do fine making seed selections as well.

Ya the paint in my house is kinda off white cream anyway but my last roomate who lived in it was a super slob so I will bleach it down before I tarp up with the panda wrap.

yo listen throw 4 600 watt light cause yes that other dude that put a post was right you will get more light over the area but if u wanan do somthin smart u can make 4 600 watt lights into 8 u know how , only use 4 for 12 ho urs when those go off put them other side so ur doing double always if u get it kind of , so example use 1 400 watt = 2 say you flowering 10 under 1 have another side with anotyher 10 when that 400 goes off throw it there so u dont have to waste all this sp acel ights put em on tracks so its easy to move man , and get this book marjiwnana horculture i cant spel that word im to high man, but ne wayhs happy halloween evyerone 2008 crops killlers purple SKUNK X DUTCH TO POTENT

hay man happy Halloween to you as well and i am also glad you are already calibrating...

Update I just pulled the tacking strips in my room about to vacuum up and then wash the walls... will save bleaching till right before I wrap it in panda wrap. The electrician came out and Will be installing a 50 w cuerkit in the room for me. after that I am good to go. just gotta set up and then get some genetics...

good idea, with the tracks n all. But still kinda a pain in the ass that U gotta do that every 12 hours on the dot. But it would def work if u were FOR SURE gonna be there every 12 hours to do it.

Update I have an electrician coming out tomorrow to wire a 120v 20 amp socket on its own circuit breaker ... then i will get all my stuff setup and take pix will be going to Humboldt next weekend to get some good genetics
