I've been trying to reason my way into throwing $100 at those strips whenever I think about it, the only thing saving me is seeing the pile of strips waiting to be used sitting across the room. If there's a strip shortage in two or three months I'll regret not getting them for the hell of it though...hrmm.
And yeah some gen 3's would be fun to try out, I'd buy a few if they price dropped...not sure they do as well with temps as the gen2's though?
I checked digikey on on those vestas, they were on my list from a ways back, $9.97 and 129 lm/W 2700K, 135 lm/W 5000K. I might try one light made of those too but with the lower efficiency probably not bulk buying them.

Efficiency is not everything. The vesta warm white section we built looked a fair bit faster/better/heavier than samsung 3000k 80cri with matched watts and diode count. I recommend trying. They dont go down in price very much in bulk so easy to pick up a few.
Another good application is for side lighting, use cold white until vertical growth is over for tighter nodes on secondary branching and then warm white to bulk up the buds. Cant guarantee anything, maybe it was our cultivar that liked the spectrum but its a really easy way to start testing what more specialised spectrum can do for your grow.
Edit: think thru your connections before you start, putting them all on parallel gives you crazy amount of cabling. If id redo it today id probably go with cc drivers even toughi hate high voltage. Just so much easier.

The tested output on these is shockingly bad. I would have cleared the lot if they were worth a 5er each.

Like 4 of the the bxeb-tl-2750G-3000-a-13 Bridgelux strips in combination with an Meanwel LRS-75-24 driven @ 77 Watts.
Would i need heatsinks for them if i drive them in this way @ 19 watt per strip or can i just hang them in a frame without heatsinks ?
I really wonder and interested to build a small light with this Vesta strips and hope you can answer me on this.

Can that driver be adjusted up to 25V? Then it should work. But you need some sinking, even if its minimal. 2mm thick alu i u channel. For anything more thn 4 strips i sincerely rec a cc driver, it becomes very messy with 2 inputs and outputs per strip if you do more in parallel. You can even use 2s2p with a 48V driver as long as you have some voltage adjustment. Your 80 w shouldd flower about 3 feet.

Also, the lrs has several outputs i think? Could be very usefull for this kinda build.

I see the strips use 24.8 Volt but will give that problems since the driver is listed at 24 .0 Volt?
The driver unfortunally have no several outputs , only for the ac and dc .
Maybe i am looking at the wrong driver now , i can´t find a 25 Volt model on this model unfortunally.
Or what kind of driver you would recommend for a 24.8 Volt parallel ?
Cool you did´nt forgot the 80 watt hlg driver i have , still working like a charm .

I just checked the datasheet and it says the voltage adj range is 21.6 ~ 28.8V .
It looks like the driver would adjust automatic on 24.8 Volt i guess?
And another edit :
Those strips can run max 48 Watts , but is that 48 Watts for both the 5000K and the 2700K or can you also set the 2700K at max 48 Watts?

Ive not used that driver so cant tell. I used hlg240-48A and adjusted up voltage, using 2 strips in series per heatsink. Did great for aprox 2.5x4' even if only relatively low power. Maybe it was our cultivar or something but it beat the other samsung fixture when we used warmwhite only for flower.

I think i will buy the Lrs 75-24 for this build to experience that 2700K cri90 .
I was a littlebit stoned and forgot to ask another thing but you were faster then my edit in my early post ,
but the strips can handle 48 Watts max . Is that if both the 2700 and 5000K strings are on or is it also possible to have the max watts on 1 string?
My plan is to only use the 2700K .
I would prefer the HLG 48 volt version for this but the Lrs only cost 15 Euro on Digikey and inclusive 4 strips it cost 52 Euro which also means free shipping in the Eu , so that´s a nice price to test this 2700K Cri90 strips.

My general advice for diy: dont do it for the money, do it to get something that works for you.
The hlg range is quite water proof so you can put it inside the tent for extra heat. Lrs i would put inside the tent cause its full of holes for cooling.
Theres also the xlg series which maybe suitable. But make sure you go for A or Ab version
