HLG 650R VS CHILLED X6 1000W

Like @Airwalker16 pointed out spread would be good on the chilLed x 6 1000w. I expect both could be dimmed down, but the bar style light would have the advantage in certain conditions where it could be run much closer to the canopy.

Anyone interested in the x6 1000w, should check their site. Seems like Meanwell 480H is backordered until July.

Not to mention the chilled has 350watts more than the HLG. But being $1,400 it's pretty expensive and far more light than you could ever need for the 4x4 footprint the fixtures actually built for. I guess If you wanted to run a 5x5, you could use it but being built at 42.5"x42.5" dimensions, although 1000w IS enough for a 6x6, the spread isn't there.

Oh, when I looked they were price matched the same?

Hey @Airwalker16 , I think @coreywebster was referring to the ChilLED Growcraft X6 Bar 1000 Watt DIY LED Grow Light Kit which is currently priced at $1,099 for ChilLED's introductory sale.

One of the downsides is there is no warranty with the DIY kits apparently.
Having never touched or seen an LED before this thing arrived. I was very overwhelmed at first when putting it together to say the least. They did not even provide any directions in the box. Needless to say the assembly was very simple. The only thing i dont like about this thing is that it needs 2 drivers for 1 fixture

Well, there's a reason for that... Nobody should ever manufacture a 1,000w driver for LED use. Just too much..

Must be the kit then. Cause that fixture is 1,399 on the website.

edit: yes the kit is in fact $1,099. But with no warranty... I dont think that's even worth the $300 discount at all

On a positive note, on the off chance one of your drivers stops working, you still have three bars operational right?

Inventronics make 1200 watt drivers. There is a member on GC who uses them to power his boards.
That's just ridiculous in my opinion. Way too much light output hinged on a single driver. If it ends up going out, that's a huge loss of light. That's an entire 4x8s needs!
Unless you're using over 20 or so of them in a huge open room style setup where losing one wouldn't be catastrophic to your run, I can't see any home grower benefiting from such a large driver.

If i hang 10 of these in a flower room. i would have 20 drivers to hang and deal with. Its not super deep, but still a hassle. I do not think they made a 1000W with a tent grow in mind.

Well just as I said in my last post, if you're hangin' 10 of these in an open room like 15x15 ft, then losing one driver won't be a huge problem. Besides the whole No Warranty thing.....
