HI this is my first time growing my own plants. It is still early in the game but I am already thinking of the drying period. Was aiming for the least amount of odor. I have a decent size dish washer machine that is broken has not been used for long time now, been using it for storage. I was wondering if this could be used for the drying period? Would appreciate any feedback.

Who the fuck dries their weed in a dishwasher. You realize the plants will give off extreme odor for over a month before harvest right?

If you really want to dry good weed get some big mason jars which are really cheap. Put you weed in there seal the lid. And only! Open once every second day for 10 minutes.

you must have some really small fluffy buds, bud. Or are you describing the curing to be done after drying?

There’s a thousand ways to skin a cat .......
1. Brown Bag Method ...... get a big brown grocery bag ( paper ) and not a white one ( bleached ) those are no good.
Break down buds to little nugs , fill only 25 % of bag . Divide among bags. Roll top down like a lunch bag . Place under bed , in a
closet in a cool dark spot. Brown bag “ breathes “ but slows drys the buds . Everyday, take bag while closed and “ roll bag “ around
to distribute buds inside - not hard just a light roll to separate them. Place hygrometer in bag to monitor.
This will allow to “ step down “ the drying up to a point ( close to 62 or better ) to jar . Then you can continue burping and cure.
Always best to locate bag at bottom of location picked .... not up on shelf where heat rises. Bag allows moisture to vape off while still allowing air in.
2. Moving Box ( wardrobe size )
Any local U-Haul or similar moving company should have “ wardrobe “ size moving boxes. They are like a small refrigerator size with a removable metal bar . You run twine inside like a clothing rack and hang buds inside of it .... in the dark. Cut a long bottom flap , at
bottom rear of box for ventilation. At same back side of box higher up cut a round hole for a simple small usb fan “ pulling “ air out .
Now you have a passive / active drying chamber . U Haul box is opened by large hinged top of card board . Then fold flat when not using it.
3. Rack dryer / hanging mesh
Easily done in empty tent , zipped , passive inlet / exhaust running. Buds are broken down and placed on each mesh shelf , toss in a hygrometer to monitor and leave zipped ..... only checking RH one or every 2 days til satisfied with bud dryness for curing. Rolling buds around once in awhile to stop flat spots and allow uniform drying.
Odor is gonna happen one way or another. Just don’t fuck up the harvest by speed drying or trapping moisture.
Low and slow is the game. If you overdry it , any chance of cure is gone. Leave it too wet , you get Mold / Botrytis and end with shit
not fit to smoke.
