New growth unhealthy after first LST

Okay friends. I’m a newb who has been trying to find answers online, I’ve reached no definitive solution so here I am!

I have 3 plants; A and B, are week 2 of veg and doing great and C week 1 of veg, not so much.

I ran into problems at the beginning because I was in MG soil (it’s my first grow) so I was dealing with nitrogen toxicity and slight burning early on. My light was also not strong enough, a cheap blurple LED from Amazon, so I ordered a mars hydro 600 watt white LED.

After I transferred them to fox farms ocean forest and put them under a better light, they all started to recover fast. I thought everything had recovered, so I started to LST a few days ago, now that they are veg and seemingly healthy. A & B responded phenomenally!

C (youngest) stayed kind of droopy after LST and hasn’t perked up much, she has grown a lot in the lower nodes but still kinda sad looking. now, the new growth I noticed has slightly orange tips. I haven’t fed yet since I just tranferred to the soil about 1 1/2 weeks ago, I figured I’d wait till the plants started showing they’re hungry. what could be the issue here?

grow info- 2x2x4 tent, 3 plants (seeds unknown), RH: 65-70, temp: 79-82, 600 watt Mars Hydro + 100 ish watt Blurple LED. Watering with distilled water only. There’s ventilation w a fan + carbon filter.

I’m also waiting on a blue lab Ph pen to arrive in the mail, could potentially be an issue.

Couple things.

As a former 2x2 grower 3 plants is too much for that size. I would focus on 1 maybe 2 depending on what that light can I do.

I don’t see anywhere you mention ph. What is your ph of water going in? And maybe even runoff?

Okay thank you! I don’t know what kind of seeds I have so I started with three assuming that at least one or two of them will be male and I’ll have to discard. I don’t know the ph yet, because I’m waiting on my Ph pen to come in the mail this week. But I’ve only been using distilled water! Not sure what you mean by run off

Do some research on ph and what it means. Some people test run off I wouldn’t worry about it right now. Just make sure what you put in is right ph water and nutrients.

What is your current light schedule?

Also don’t forget to check for males as you go and discard them.

Thanks! And okay I see what you mean now, I’ve been using distilled water because I heard that it’s PH neutral for watering but I won’t really know till my PH tester pen gets here.
As for light, I’m on an 18-6 schedule at the moment.

Once you ph your water. The nutrients will become more available for your plant. 7 is not bad but drop it to 6.5 for every watering. If you have a blue lab pen you can laugh at me for having to check my run off! You won’t need to with that pen

Haha thanks so much! Any recommendations for changing the PH of water? Should I purchase a PH up/ down product. (I only purchased the PH pen because of advice from a member on here, I guess I’m fancy now though )

Very fancy....but ahead of the game.
I use ph up and down. Mostly down. My ph of tap is high so I usually have to use down.

Is distilled water expensive? If so use tap

Thanks so much for this!!! I will definitely be buying some PH up/down and switching to tap. There are so many opinions out there and I’m new so I’m just trying to learn the craft!

Try different things if they aren’t too expensive then decide what u like. That’s the best part of this.

ive yet to run into a spot where I need ph up so if on a budget get down only. If you can afford both why not get both. You never know when it may come in handy.

I wouldn't stress too much, nothing there is a disaster. Some plants just take a bit to adjust to a transplant. Focusing on establishing some new root growth of whatever. Seems like your on the right track though. You've been willing to make adjustments on the fly and take advice so everything should be fine. And @Wattzzup is giving you some good advice too.

If you get a pH adjuster get both up and down, just in case. It has a really long shelf life. Like Wattzzup I never needed the pH up ... until I did because I acidified my soil overfeeding about a month ago haha.

Hopefully you'll start seeing some signs of sex soon so you can just focus on the females!

This is one of those time where the cheapest or easiest to get is just fine. They all work about the same. Sometimes the higher priced ones are more concentrated, so they last longer, but they can also be a pain to use for adjusting small volumes of water since they are so strong. Just a few drops can cause major swings in a gallon or less of water.
