Reuse Coco??

Right peeps, so I’ve got 3 seedlings in little pots at the minute. I’m waiting for the tent to free up from drying to pop them in. I won’t have enough coco for their final homes. I could get a fresh bag but can’t be arsed looking with the lockdown and shit so I was wondering....

Can I reuse the coco from the grow that’s drying at the minute. Tbh it would solve the problem of how to discreetly get rid while also giving me something to do fo a few hours…and I’m constantly looking for things to do at the minute :wall:

like I say, I can get fresh if needed I.e if it could damage the grow. But if it’s simply down to effort and labour it’s not done then I’ve got myself a little task for the day?

I reuse mine once...always. Just be sure you don't have too much organic material in it, ie roots, rotting leaves, stems, etc. Good luck.

I reuse mine many times and add a new bag when the pile gets depleted.

I like to use a garden sieve when its all dry, break it up, sieve it to get the old roots out, not worried about small roots.
Then I wash it in a pillow case to make sure excess salts are out and rebuffer it with ph'd calmag water

@coreywebster could you elaborate on this 'garden sieve' you speak of? I like the sound of it.

I used to use those wire waste paper bins but you cant seem to buy them these days.

This one is about the circumference of a 25ltr bucket , so its not huge, doesn't take long to whip though a few hundred ltrs of coco though.
