Does topping increase yield ? When is the best height to top it ? What are your opinions on topping ?

The only reason I top is to keep the plant from growing too high inside. IMO opinion yeild is inscreased with the proper amount of full sun per day. Last year I had two plants same strain started from seed, topped one and let the other alone and afterwards the amount of trimmed bud was very close to eachother, it didnt seem to make a difference.

I believe that it does increase yield, I top until I have about 36 colas per plant.

I like to top after the 3rd or 4th node, the lower branches have time to catch up with the meristems. Any higher and I'm playing catch up all veg.

Here's a great video on topping:

My understanding is that the answer to that question depends on your grow strategy/end game plan. If you're indoor with limited space/height or restricted number of plants, then topping and training will most likely improve yields and quality over the same number of untopped/untrained plants. But it takes more time and effort to do. When growing SOG, or outdoor, the time and effort of topping and training usually doesn't improve yields enough to make it worth the effort.
