Ok thanks guys.
pH meter checked, calibrated, double checked, that's ok. Stable overnight at 6, I think I can eliminate that.
Need to get ppm calibration solution. I have 2 meters, they are about 130 out, but that shouldn't matter a huge deal.
I need to stop giving you guys ppm including the 200 of my tap water. So in reality she got about 450, which has dropped to 400 in 36 hours. 450 seems very low. If the lower of the 2 pens I have is right then it's more like 300. The damage looks like a deficiency to me.
So i'm very tempted to whack the ppm up to at least 600 and see how she responds...what do you think?
Cheers!
Drop the PH to 5.8 - STELTHY :leaf:

Is ppm swinging as well? If ppm drops over time, increase initial rez ppm. If ppm rises over time, decrease initial rez ppm. Goal is ppm stays near constant as rez level depletes, this would indicate plants are using water and nutes at same rate. This concentration will typically increase as plants grow.

If ppm stays constant over time but pH swings, that would either indicate that pH buffering of the soln is inadequate or nute ratio is off and plants are using more of some and less than others so this swing could be from pH of some nutes building in concentration.

Ok thanks, ppm actually dropped pretty dramatically yesterday, from 500 to 350 over about 12 hours. I gave her 600 this morning lets see how she does with that. pH slowly drifting down from 6.3 ill catch it at 5.8 up bump it up again. Also got an analogue RH meter cos i didnt trust my digital ones. Running cheap humidifier keeps it around 65 which is better than what it was.
Clawing seems to have almost cleared up, new growth looking good...some tip burn ill keep an eye on that...
Looking much happier this morning, me too :)

Well she's battling on but shes still not happy...pH has been in range 5.8 - 6.3 for two days now, and still the damage seems to be spreading albeit slowly...ppm is dropping 100 every 24 hours, she's at 700 now.
Could this be a good old fashioned deficiency....? Im tempted to throw 1000ppm at her and see how she does.
Cheers!

How's it going? Seems weird ppm would drop that fast. Could be deficiency if ppm is dropping as that would indicate nutrients are being removed.

First picture posted of symptoms of the problem almost look like wind burn. I've fried leaves that didn't really have well established roots from a small fan. The pH readings and ppm readings being all over the place also indicates either defective instrumentation or not calibrated or that your doing way too much adding/subtracting stuff from your res.

How's the quality of your base water?

Hi guys, I think it was a number of things, low humidity, pH going wonky very quickly. She's still showing some rusty spots here and there, but otherwise I think she's gonna be fine. Water here is excellent, except in my flat which has weird plumbing, I have my doubts the water is 100% clean.
Gonna flip to 12/12 this week woohoo :)
Anyway here she is, there is a scrog under there, in case you missed it!
Cheers!
