My huntsman spiders protect my garden

As long as there is a substantial amount of food why not, I found a baby last year on an outside plant brought it in the tent immediately lol he lasted weeks and then one day he was gone think my cat had a little snack but, it can’t hurt especially if u got mites, maybe a handful of real ladybugs , don’t get the Orange kind those aren’t lady bugs, but Japanese lady beetles they eat plants

Cats shouldn't be anywhere near your garden if you ask me.

And keep the pets out of the grow room regardless, unless you like hairy weed. They're also a good transporter of nasty bugs we don't want in the grow room.

I cringe everytime I see people's pets in there grow room, but to each his own.

For mites most efficient course would be predator mites. Seeing you are going for prevention is best option. They will die if no food is available. Mantis and lady bug will leave to find food and endup in living quarters. Over half the lady bugs will cook on your bulb.

You mean like hypoaspis miles. I already have them, along with rove beetles, and some other little critters. Just no mantis yet.

And I know they will venture out in search of food if they're not getting enough to eat. I've used ladybugs on houseplants, but never a mantis. It's gonna be fun if I can get them to hatch.

I have had lady bug defenders before myself and they work well enough, mantis would be cool mite warrior but id be afraid of it eating my plants... interested to know what it does to your house plants after it hatches...

Edit- after very little research lol it seems they dont eat plants but eventually will feed on pollen to supplement its diet, so i guess breeders no and growers yes for mantis? Ill stick with lady bugs still because my daughters love lady bugs and they like catching the ones that escape out of the room into the house lol... they have also both been in search for the ellusive "daddy bug" because their idea is if there is a lady bug there has to be a daddy bug lol

My son is stoked about the idea of some mantis roaming around. My wife and daughter, not so much so. They kinda freaked out just when I mentioned it. Can't wait till they hatch, lol.

Keep her searching for the daddy bug. You could have a lot of fun with that. Like the leprechaun trap I had my kids make. Then I'd throw a couple gold $1 coins in the tripped trap, and sometimes a little piece of green felt. Almost caught him, hahaha.

The fans do get them actually but screens work... turns out my son is the one who dont like bugs, my daughters love everything that crawls, creeps, flies, and walks and try to pet it all, lol even bumble bees because "it has fur on it so i thought i could pet it"... now we dont pet bees lol fast learning through pain of stupidi

This gives me great ideas for their search lol i may have to be creative with what a daddy bug might leave behind lol and what to catch him with haha. They would goes as far as making a lady bug sized chair, paper, and coffee cup cause thats what dads like to do in the morning lol...

All of the predators will eat pollen in absent of prey. Nothing that will stop a breeding program.
