Spider mites where are they coming from?

Hello I have a two new seedlings and I've been killing spider mites for the past 3 days. I used soapy water and silica with water and I'm killing them by hand, the bleed u can see it. I came home from work and saw two on one plant, they other none so I killed them. I'm wondering where there coming from because when I left I saw none. Are they coming from the dirt? How do I treat the soiI if so? I have some Asmax on the way.

They're coming from the soil, what they like is hot dry and stagnant environments so they thrive indoors, I had some on my plants so I took em outside early where it was cool wet and windy (conditions mites hate) now I dont see them at all, but will be keeping a lookout. Also spray the bottom of the leaves with water if you can to "wash" them away

They come straight from the pits of hell. Good luck getting rid of them. After they are all dead and gone, continue spraying, because you will have missed some and they will regroup and again try to take over the world.

I have a fan blowing on them and the dirt. I ordered some fox farm Ocean forest soil, could the mites be living in there? Can they live in soil with no plants?

Mites come from an alternate reality. A reality of death, famine, and disease. They come through a portal to feast on our cannabis and escape the hell which is their reality and in the process turn our reality into hell.

Mites suck. Show them no mercy. :fire:

U sure I squeezed one and it bleed. I have german cockroaches but these are small, if you zoom in on the first pic you can see them. I'll take another pic if I see one but there definitely some type of bug. I was told on a previous thread I created I had mites

Not sure what you can do about little ones being infested by mites in the soil. If you change soil, you'd still be bringing mites and their egg sacks along with the plant.

A lot of growers in this situation would toss everything, fog, disinfect, and sterilize the entire room. Start with some new seeds in good soil. Along with taking steps to prevent mites into the house, I like to leave a film of neem oil on the floors, walls, and other surfaces in the room. I also spray the door jams and the floor just outside the room.

Holy crap! Those are some big bugs. And they're feasting on that seedling. I'd probably chuck that entire pot. You need to do something about those. 1:1 isopropyl alcohol and water. Kill the bugs.

Yeah but what are the they? Are the spider mites? I have some asmax on the way I thought they were mites. The plants are recovering because I'm killing them and spray the plant alot.I just killed 3 and the seem to be on only one plant now. There not attacking the plant as much. 20200519_131617.jpg

In this case, you want to throw the baby out with the bathwater... that is, throw it away with the pot, medium and anything else disposable in the area. You'll then want to repeatedly clean the area with something that will kill all existing pests, and that will prevent them from coming back. That includes ALL plants in the grow area.

Have you been taking plants from outside and bringing them in at all? Do you go out and spend time in a garden outdoors, then go into your grow room without cleaning yourself properly (at least changing clothes and washing up well)?

You could choose to look at this loss positively... at least you haven't just finished spending half a year getting a perpetual running and completely dialed in, just to get an infestation that causes you to scrap the entire thing. Trust me, there's not much of a worse feeling than that.
