Pretty sure you can have 4 plants legally no matter what buddy.
The new recreational laws allow for 4 plants per household in only some provinces. Medical patients on the other hand have essentially no limits when it comes to plant counts

The British Columbia Cannabis Control and Licensing Act authorizes adults to grow up to four (4) plants per household. Plants must not be visible from public spaces off the property. The limits are in addition to the authorized limit of licensed growing of medical marijuana.

Sad you guys can only have 4 plants. I guess ultimately my plan is to do 4 photo period plants at a time though. But I will start vegging the next round while the last are finishing up.

Risk of getting caught is minimal. But if the goal is to provide the new member with good advice, you are not legal to grow more than 4 without the ACMPR. It’s not just processing of a doctors signature, it’s ensuring you meet other requirements also. Such as proximity to parks and schools, criminal history etc.
Correct. It's not the doctor's signature that matters when you're trying to go med legal, it's the signature from Health Canada that matters. The doctor's signature is but a prerequisite to applying for the license from Health Can.
If you want to remain legal, you have to wait until the application process is complete, and you're officially approved.

Don't mean to come off the wrong way here but this is 100% false. If you're a medical patient that has been prescribed cannabis from a doctor, proximity to parks and schools, criminal history etc. mean nothing. You're still entitled to your medication despite these things.

Again, don't mean any disrespect but this is mostly incorrect as well. There is no "signature from Health Canada". It's only the doctors signature that matters. If it was up to Health Canada none of us would be approved.
I will agree though if you want to play it safe just wait for the license to arrive.

And HC is dragging their ass again,god knows how long they will take to process a new registration
Next week will be 2 months since they recieved my renewal.Not my 1st renewal either,i'm calling them next week.They won't be able to use the phrase..it hasn't been 2 months,and i don't want to hear covid as an excuse either.

Funny, cause every time I renew mine, I have to fill out those pre requisite questions, check the boxes stating I haven’t been charged in the last 10 years, don’t live within certain distance from schools etc. This year I moved and had to provide proof by email showing I actually live at the address also. Then the email reply I get from [email protected] specifically tells me that I am not authorised until I get the license in the mail. Whole process takes 4-6 weeks before COVID. I just got my renewal in January..... Oh, and the law firm my spouse works for that deals with ACMPR licensing for major growers....they advised the same thing.
Entitled to your medication with a doctors signature, yes, able to grow more than 4 without the ACMPR on hand...absolutely not.

Are you a designated grower or an actual patient? There is a section asking if you've been busted for a cannabis offense while registered under "the program" but that's it. Other than that you're fine. Nothing about distances to schools, parks and etc.
Edit: My bad. The outdoor section does ask about distances to schools, parks and etc. I was assuming this was indoor. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

I did the same, moved and switch to both in and out. Yes, if you’ve submited a renewal, you can continue to grow until you get a response. I couldn’t grow at the new site until I received the approval because the site itself has to be registered already.

HC has had mine since march. My outdoor will all be grown, chopped and transferred home without paperwork. When i asked what im supposed to say if i get pulled over with lbs they just kept saying "its being processed" and "we're really busy" Christ.. 2020 is fair game apparantly if thats how they want to run things. Overgrow! if they cant be bothered to send my renewal then thats on them

It’s one or the other. You aren’t allowed to grow indoors and outdoors at the same time. If you don’t grow outdoors at all with an in/out script then you can grow your indoor portion all year. If you decide to grow outdoor you are to eliminate everything inside and grow only your outdoor plant count and then go back to your indoor limit after harvest.
