Hey guys, newbie question here but, I have a 2x2 grow.

If I bought the Hipargero 1200w light with true power of 320 watt, would it be overkill for the plant?
Or should I get the Hipargero 800w version instead?

You need around 30 watts per square foot with quality LED and more like 50 with the cheap stuff... and that looks cheap, I wouldn't buy it.
This is quality and the right power for a 2x2. It also has dimming.

Don't do a single quantum board in a small tent. They need to hang too high and then you lose at least 40% of the light on the walls. Get 2 strips or 4 COBs for much better uniformity, lower hanging hight and ultimately more light on the plants for less money.

Yes the 800 version would be better suited to your space. Not cheap for a cheap light though.

It's "fine" yes, but 2 strips or 4 COBs is a much better alternative. I'm saying this because I do know what I'm talking about..

I have a 2x2(ish) tent - they do start feeling very vertically cramped in short time so I have to agree that strips would be ideal. Mine was built with 8 strips (6 h-influx l06 + hlg qb11 660nm).

I purchased a second board, because i was disappointed with the spread of a single qb in my 2x2.5. My previous 4 cob fixture had a much better spread at the same wattage.

May i check what lights you use to grow? Am from Malaysia as well with a 2x4x5 grow. Not too sure what lights to get for that size and it's hard to find a good light here.

Try googling ledgardener and look for his 2x4 strip builds. You should be able to get all the parts from digikey.my

Or try Alibaba and search for 260w grow light Samsung 301b.
