Help

Hi I’m having some plant issues. This is my first grow and my plants(white widow) are about 3 months from seed. I gave them some nutrients early on but saw some signs of stress so they’ve just been getting plain water about every 3 days for a while now. I have four plants growing under 2 600 watt lights. A few days ago I noticed some yellowing on the leaves of my biggest plant. I gave it a little bit of cal mag and thought it would help. Now the leave are rapidly turning yellow. Some have brown edges which I read could be a sign of overwatering but the soil is dry to about an inch down. I had some issues with fungus gnats early on but I haven’t seen any in a while. The other three plants appear to be doing fine but because I don’t know what the problem is I can’t stop it from happening to them. Is it possible that I overwatered are one point and damages the root system? What does my plant need? Please help

From your medium ( soil ) ... some strains are sensitive to feed whether from grower or soil / medium.
It will eventually exhaust the excess as long as you don’t add more to it.
Are you ph water ?

Oh ok. No I haven’t been. If I do I should be testing the runoff for about 6.5 right?

Check yourWater ph I bet your in the 7.4 range I just figured out same issue and the yellowing could be cause your not feeding Nutes plants starting to use its back up leaves for root intake. Can’t say for sure but check your water ph and if it’s off correct it and go from there soil prob had plenty of nitrogen and the rest to carry this far and now all that’s left is nitro.

Ok. That makes sense. Thank you. Any recommendations on a ph reader. I had bought a cheap one early on but it wasn’t very accurate

Sounds like a decent medium. For a ph meter. I personally got one of the nutri plus ph meter and tds to keep an eye on ppm. Works well just make sure you get it to get some ph up and down and some calibrating solution.

this is a really strange thread because those leaves are so dark green with dying leaf tips, indicating they've been given too much nitrogen if nothing else. has nutrients been given that you haven't mentioned?

No like I said I had given them a little cal mag early on but nothing else. The other 3 plants have the same really dark leaves but don’t have any yellowing or other signs of nutrient burn. I was thinking maybe it was just a trait of the type of plant maybe but I don’t know

Are u growing them with led? If so what brand, I had a similar thread Cause I’ve always thought my tent seemed way to dark green.

Yes, this is my first grow and I didn’t really know what to expect so I just bought two cheap 600 watt led lights off amazon. I believe the brand is Yinatech. They have veg and bloom switches and seem to be working well so far. Did you have any yellowing or drooping in your plants?

Deff no yellowing drooping yes but it’s cause how I grow (I like to make the plants work hard to keep it strong. But I deff always thought with the leds they grow greener, and by the end of grow they seem to be smaller and slower by about a week or so. My tent is week 4 of flower. I haven’t gave AnyThing but ph water for least 3 weeks still very deep green but there making buds. 398ADD24-980C-4F2C-BC29-1C127757EFC0.jpeg0185CC4D-419E-41C7-8CDC-4E13218E82C5.jpeg

You must have had a fair amount of nitrogen in your nutes..Nice bright green and no colour fade after 3
weeks...

I like to think of cannabis as growing flowers not vegetation..Example, if you feed tomato plants too much nitrogen you have a beautiful Christmas Tree, but no fruit..

It a learning curve that we all build on...

Nice healthy looking plants..just make sure the nitrogen level moving forward is zero to negligible and you should be fine.

Cheers
