Carbon filter queation

That little metal attachment on the back is fucking genius. Why can't they all have that?
CarboAir I'm sure is not something US customers can get. Just like Rhino/Fox/Ram. All UK Brands. And all animals too... Which is weird...

Like i said , just 10 years ago i was buying the 75lbs of carbon in a filter for 110 bucks to the door. I believe is was about 4 foot high and about 90 lbs total. With only a 6" duct. That thing lasted 2 years everytime i bought one or two. Never had any smells back then. (no tent, straight studs on the wall)
Now fast forward to a few years back..... picked up a lightweght vivosun , seemed they had good reviews in the review world*. Tiny 6" filter lasted over a year, now i try to go to 8" filters and ive bought 2 already within 2 months and either work..... talked to a buddy ,....he has 4 or 5 that dont work either.
I dont think the lightweight carbon is completely junk , ive used it with good results , it has to be the manafacturer spitting out junk.

I think it all comes down to how THICK the carbon bed is.
