My mulberry tree. Harvest has been going in stages ... harvest all the ready ones monday / thurs / sat ... it just keeps giving. So good.

Our blackberries are red now. A ripe one every now and again.

I have ate my share of huckleberries. Not a great crop of them this year, but what is there is really sweet.

Not really late. Maybe. I just look for them when they start getting ripe. I'm the one always asking Sister when it's time to add ferts to the berry bushes.

We go out to Sauvie Island when the wild/invasive Himalayan's are ready and pick gallons of them on public land. Sauvie's Island is at the confluence of the Columbia and Wilamette rivers. There's also a ton of farms out there and sometimes we pick peaches as well when they're in season.

Picked a couple more quarts today. I'm going to can a few pints of jam with these and some others I've picked.

I always throw some strawberries and jalapeños or bell pepper in my garden! Gonna try lettuce and onion sometime soon!

We couldn't keep up with the strawberries so I made some jam. I've been eating strawberry shortcake, pancakes, on ice cream, etc... I'm getting strawberried out. Have a gallon in the freezer as well.

One day last week I was sitting under the oak in the garden. I noticed 3-4 red birds landing in the tree above me, then flying off. After a few minutes I saw where they were going. The sons of bitches were eating my blueberries. They had got most of them by then. I looked today, and the rest of them were gone. Not sure what we will do going forward. They are planted in a long row. I wish now they were grouped closer so I could net them.

I used to have a big blackberry patch. The mosquitoes were terrible there. I took that out over a few seasons. Now, I let a couple volunteers pick their spot.
