They are looking awesome dude, :weed:
how long have you been flushing for? looks like it could go another week or 2.

The leaves are all still very green, very few browning pistils, consider giving it straight water from now on. you can also look into a flush product if youd like such as florakleen etc. I use them half the time, its mostly just sugars that help break ionic bonds.

do you know what strain it is, that could add some insight on the finishing time. Environment can impact flowering time considerably such as 8-10 weeks.

Check out usb microscopes on amazon. I grabbed one for 30$ .... not only is it amazing for looking for bugs etc but it makes looking at thrichomes easy and fun. I like to make video on a laptop and then u can just watch it and press pause etc.... better then a jewlers loupe + they can go to 1000x really cool :D but not neccessary if you arent feeling like spending 30$

Awsome, the 8th week ended on sunday so almost the end of the 9th week but ive been giving them straight ph water 6-6.2since middle of the 8th week...yes still some white pistols ...if i give it about 10 wreks wont the potency get lower? And i dont know the strain just that there indica they were hand me downs.....and ill deff check out the amazon product because i am just using a loupe right now lol....but what should i look for to determine if 1 or two weeks?.. all pistols brown and gone ?? And thanks guys appreciate it alot!!

Potency will not drop ... pistils dictate the maturity of the calyx , white / green color = immature .
Breeders lie ... their “ estimates “ are guides only........

Many so-called 8 week strain are actually done in 9-10 weeks , sometimes longer.
Cannabis doesn’t follow a calendar... they mature and finish when they finish .... Your skill and environment for that grow
actually plays into “ when it finishes “ too , if plant finds a particular parameter of your grow ( say lights for example ) not fully
doing its potential then plant will be a bit slower . Blurple grows often have extended finishes for example.

Ride them til wheels fall off ... judge an “ average “ overall . Look at all buds . 80% pistil recede is a good indicator OR If say some are ready , you can take them and leave the mids and lowers to finish .

Generally plant maturity is best gauged by trichome cloudiness which is observed with the loupe/digital scope. The more cloudy the more mature the trichome up until it begins to degrade as it ambers. Harvesting based on trichome color is a personal choice depending on the type of high you want. I usually go when ive got like 80% cloudy.

Just cause no one answered this particular question ... no, letting it go an extra week will not lower potency. In fact, it will likely do the opposite.

Other than that, just listen to everything @Budzbuddha said

80% pistil recede is a good indicator
Pistils are one way to gauge maturity but generally not the best way to decide when to harvest as some strains pistils will brown far before trichome maturity. Ive grown several strains that would go nearly 90% brown and trichomes still appear clear while I grew a OG kush who would keep pistils nearly completely white to the day of harvest yet trichs would be 80% cloudy at 9weeks.

Very true. I have two White Thunder plants going right now. They both have mostly brown pistils but still have about a month to go. While other plants in the grow have very immature white pistils still.

Yah man, I had a friend who used to harvest at 80% pistils red, when I showed him to scope trichs he started letting it go an extra week and a half, the nugs went from AA to AAAA Hard as rocks compared to his last 2 batches were nice, but not comparable since they were coming down a solid week early.:weed:

It depends where you look at the trichomes. Many people see a few amber trichs on a sugar leaf and harvest early like you did with white pistils the day of harvest. Then there are some strains where the trichomes never amber. Trichomes are not the holy grail but just one of several identifiers.

never look at sugar leaf for trichs, look at buds, and yes top buds will finish first where bottom buds will still be clear. Thats why some people do 2 harvests top and bottom. What do you base your harvest time off?

And the OG who would be white hairs when harvested at 9ish weeks was 70-80% cloudy on main buds at time of harvest, Im sure i have my trichome scouting videos somewhere prob on my laptop.
