I think you have fallen victim for someone elses missunderstanding, you talk about Ende?
Afaik: samsung released a set of horti reds, lm351h if my memory dont fail me, and "rereleased" the lm301b as the lm301h based on separate processes after manufacturing: the binning is different, they bin the h in ppf and not lumens and it also seems like the h tend to have the better bins, even though companies like hlg had access to these good bins anyways with the b. There was also a few things in marketing: the antisulfurization coating was always present in the b but it wasnt marked as such until the h.
There was some datasheet mixup in the start, it seems like theyve corrected it now, but i think they basicly switched some spectrums out by misstake. The h sells for a premium price, so i think some board makers, who had to pay a premium h used these missunderstandings in order to make their own product look good. Im pretty sure GG ended up in some long and hard debate with someone, i think this person might be be the source of this missunderstanding. Ive seen so many versions of this: posted tests where the h and the b didnt have the same voltage bins and thus showing up as better, you name it, but its all been explainable by binning and not doing apples to apples tests. But the people who work closely with samsung and have a huge fetish for efficiency and great grow specs continued with the B (up until recently) as they could get same specs for cheaper with the B. Anyways....
I like and respect a man who can back down when showed that hes wrong, its not the most common in the internets...
