Nitrogen deficiency or Calcium deficiency??

So I recently bought the spider farmer 4000 because I only had a little wimpy 1000w knock off LED...but and I'm having issues where the leaves are coupling and fisting... I threw my three plants outside and they snapped back within one day so I'm really thinking they're not getting the proper light inside the tent with that being said I have noticed I have some yellowing on my leaves I can't figure out if it's lack of nitrogen or some type of Calcium deficiency what's everyone's thoughts??

Just for note I'm using Fox Farm ocean Forest cut down with a little bit of peat moss and little bit of organic soil because my last grow was too hot because of the Fox Farms ocean forest soil we have extremely hard water where I live extremely high pH I usually bring the PH down to about 6 to 6 1/2 half

Keep in mind the peat can affect your pH, but those need N. Before you add more check your runoff pH for shits n gigs, your mix could be on the acidic side.

Why test the runoff? Just get a spoonful and do the slurry test if you want to test ph. Also most peat comes with adjusted ph.

Me too but I preffered runoff, been toasted by slurry, can be hard on the some types of equipment too, preference I guess, it was always peat and perlite though too.

Runoff is not accurate in organics ime. There is shit ton of organic material you wash away with the runoff water. Its like concentrated decaying organic matter juice. I adjust before every grow with lime with the slurry test.

For sure, that’s why I put peat and perlite. I did a organic super soil run few years back. I was organic noob and washed everything away by the beginning of flower. That was my debut lmao... and my finally. Moved to peat for few years then came back this run hydro after 3 off.

Went through the same thing at the very beginning but once i dialed it in and set up blumats or drip irrigation they just take off. Loving the no hassle approach. The key is not getting any runoff in organics. Very counter intuitive to bottle feeding approach but it works haha

Yeah man, I wish I had time to make soil for outside, I had resistance after i threatened to grow a tree in the middle of the yard. I’m all for no hassle nowadays, organic water and walk away is in a class of its own. I must say though, this hydro is easier then peat. I will never go back to that. Might try coco drain to waste someday.

I’m all for no hassle nowadays, organic water and walk away is in a class of its own. I must say though, this hydro is easier then peat. I will never go back to that. Might try coco drain to waste someday.

I like peat but coco is sustainable so it’s better. I have some coco in my blend but you can do 100% coco organic mix too. It’s just a base after all. I had peppers growing in straight ewc so you can even use that as your compost and add shit ton of perlite and pumice for base. What scares me with hydro is all that cleaning and precise dosing. I’m sure i can get decent yields with a little effort if i try but it’s a whole different system i need to buy or diy. Plus i’m really happy with organic living soil and so are the plants

Don't back track bro. The only reason I run hydro is because I can get through more plants faster. If you're not in a hurry, organic or rols is a better product.

i didn’t want to get into the quality aspect because i have never grown hydro but like tomatoes i’m guessing there will be a significant difference in quality. Nothing beats some fertile soil (and peat or coco mix haha)

I mentioned before I failed at outdoor organic this year, never had time to make dirt, I wanted another batch that you couldn’t tell if I was growing mushrooms or what, man that’s the batch I flushed away, 4 months I cooked that shit. i hope you can dial in your organic soil also, it’s very different from bottle feeding ime. biggest difference is you don’t do dry cycles as that disturbs the colonies in the soil and with an airy mix that constant moisture actually powers very satisfactory growth and man the smells, oh the smells and everything i grow looks like glass. Without much effort that is (except the ammending, mixing and cooking hahha). Fun!

That makes sense, I bought a cement mixer back then, never did use it for cement yet, and did the garage tarp thing. I hope to do it again someday.

What temps are your room?
