For those growing a # or more per light, which Training techniques do you use? Mainline? LST? Topping? How many times? Stripping / defoliation? Probably a combination, but which?

Just supercropping to control the canopy. No defoliation or anything else. 600 watt HPS. I don't hit that target all the time as I have been spending most of my time dabbling in breeding and growing small plants. But when I do a grow for volume I can hit that every time. I don't spend the time training as it takes too long and you get less grows a year. By the time some have trained their plants for months I'm halfway through flower. I also don't defoliate anything. In fact I don't trim a single leaf.

12 single cola in 2gal coco. 3 week veg clones. 1.5-2oz per plant under 600w.View attachment 4579976
I grow many plants just like that. Always with new crosses I make so I can see how they grow. Branching, bud formation, speed, etc... You can't see the natural growth patterns if you train the plants with topping, LST, etc... Although I did recently grow a couple fem Bruce Bangers I got as freebies and did a little LST with them just for kicks, threw them in the back of the tent and got several zips off of each one.

I still prefer just one topping and then supercropping if I'm doing any training. Other training like LST and mainlining just take too much time. You might get increased yields per harvest but less harvests per year and you're spending a bunch of time playing with your plants. I'd rather play with my dogs in the backyard.

The way you grew those plants gives you the big cola's many are trying to grow. I have the exact same tent with a 600. Puts out enough weed in 1 grow to last me more than a year. bongsmilie

I also just top once and supercrop if I'm running regs and won't end up with 12 females. I also think coco has a lot to do with how well my plants turn out, that grow was my second time using jacks and got some n tox but they still turned out great. Only disadvantage to single colas is it's a bitch to get good clones and sometimes I can't get a good one till later in flower.

Coco and Jacks is a damn good combination. Just trim back the calcium nitrate a bit and you'll be golden.

My first time doing a manifold/mainlining, this is one i did 16 tops, it has 15 tops because I was high when I did the topping. Might look hungry but fucked if I know, things eats like me at McDonald’s in 1985. 1600w Hps, day 2 12/12.. paper towel roll for reference, not shutting light off lol. I’m taking buckets of clippings nightly, I have to go under yet for a final trim but I’m waiting for some rapid rooters. Edit: after looking at them I realized the hps is way too close.

I typically top a couple times then let the branches get nice and long in the veg rooms (tall) then I press them out under a trellis in the flowering room and supercrop those branches out sideways under the trellis so they will bust all their nodes into resulting colas.

4+ pounds per plant is doable for sure, probably more with the right strain and DWC, these are just in a peat based soiless mix.

I'm jealous of your grow space but at the same time I realize that a setup like that is much more than someone like me needs. My 4 x 4 provides me with more than I need. But I'm sure that's not all for you. Nice setup. :weed:

.

Renfro how much do you get per pound?

I read some posts that claimed to get only $800 a pound, wondering if that's representative.

Damn bro, at 800 a pound I would just quit growing and work for the man. Sounds like outdoor #'s. Definitely not representative. LoL I sure miss the good old days of 5k a pound bulk wholesale.
I’m just going out on a limb here, but I’m also assuming your growing quads. :blsmoke: I also noticed there’s no posts here regarding co2 without Renfro schooling people. Guess what I was reading up on.. haha
