i want max light but I dont want to run into heat issues or need c02. Closet will be vented above light through scrubber.

Would a 300 be a better option?

This is my first step into the LED realm from HPS so I wanna get it once and do it right.

Thank you for your input guys

I use the HLG 550 v2 in a 4 x 4 tent . I have had light bleaching on some plants when the light is too close to the canopy . Two smaller lights might give you better coverage . I don't have heat problems with decent ventilation .

Two qb96 would go great in that space... 4 would be better for more efficiency... if you are into diy and want to even try

No, 3 of these, but theyre not in stock.

Or even 4 of these:

On a 320 driver. These are very cheap now and maybe the last of them, with 4 you could make a nice square tent if you ever changed your setup. Or even 2x hlg185 for some extra power.

Price will be a fraction of a 550, and youll be running it quite soft so decent enough efficiency.
Also you have the capacity to increase power to the double without too much trouble, just throw another 320 driver on it. Or a 185 each, but then youll need air movement over the sink and plenty of height also.

Make sure you use A or AB type dimming on your driver, to accomodate the slightly higher voltage on high power.

I hope HLG doesn't discontinue the QB 96. I can say that I bought 2 QB96 with heatsinks last October and I paid $75.00 each minus 10% discount(plus shipping). I remember the price dropping to $69.00 each within a month after that. I didn't end up doing it, but I was considering buying 2 more at the time.

Last cheapo deal like that was v1 288s and they never came back. OP: if you go for this optionnid defo buy 4, its a great deal and it will work out better for spread than a 550

Barri, do you know if theres a discount code on top of the 69$? RIU , perhaps?

Either RIU10 or DIY10 will get the buyer 10% off the price!

you could run a b spec and two r specs on an XL heat sync as well, which would be badass. It would probably cost a bit more though, but it would be nice to be able to dim the b spec and rpec ratios like that and you’d have to have two drivers for the build

I've got 4 QB96's in a 4x4 tent which work great. Have thought about adding a couple more for better spread, but honestly the spread if pretty good already. Hmm.. might get 2 more for the heck of it.

6 works great in the 4x4 but 8 is even better
Kept thinking 9 would be cool with 3 rows of 3 each but I think that would be better for a 5x5
