Barney's Gorilla Zkittlez

Another week. The leaves on the plant on the left are almost sticking straight up now. I did some reading and everything I've come across says that it's just happy if there's no obvious signs of stress. Does that seem right? It's drinking water and nutrients like mad.

Forgot to add. I started a seed outdoors last weekend. It's an Amnesia auto freebie from canuk seeds. I was planting some tomatoes and had a couple gallons of soil left over and thought what the hell, it will be fun to try growing one in soil.

LG,
Good luck with the outdoor grow!
That will be a whole different can of worms I'm guessing. Excellent chance to learn a little something.
What the number of day in flower count on this current grow?? Just curious...
Cheers,

:pVery happy plants!! Good luck with the outdoor. That looks like fun!
One of my plants reminds me of your NL grow... leaves pointing almost directly up praying to the sun gods. One thing I've noticed about the outdoor plant. They grow so slowly compared to hydro. Yesterday was three weeks from germinating and it's just starting its second node. I'd be a lot further along in the buckets.

Today would be 23 days from the first sign of flower, day 38 since flipping to 12/12

Thanks @Mr. Cheetah and @Nefrella

In the home stretch now. The plant on the left has slowed consuming nutrients. I get a daily drop if I keep it under 750 ppm, anything higher and it goes up by the next day. The other plant is having no problems handling 950 ppm. It has a fruity flower smell, with almost no skunky smell.

The little outdoor plant is very slowly coming along, I don't know how you soil farmers have the patience for this.

LG,
Will your outdoor plant have enough time to develop and ripen before cold weather? Not being a smartass, I just know your a ways north of me.
Do folks grow outdoors up there?

At the rate that it’s growing I’m not very confident. It’s an auto so I assumed it would be enough. There are other Canadians successfully growing outdoors. My area gets weather similar to New York

LG,
I wonder if it's common to start them indoors for a couple months of veg, and then move them outdoors when you're sure the weather is warm enough. That seems like it would extend the season by a couple of months and really increase yields for photo plants. Although I'm totally clueless on the outdoor grow methods. My state allows indoor growing only.
Just rambling...

Ive grown successfully and not so good in NY. The key is the light. Its not hard to go there provided you have direct light

How about light dep for the outdoor to stimulate into flower faster . I have heard using a garbage can on and off the plant the same time each day works .
your indoor is really looking lively! She looks so perky and happy! And she is so huge ! Nice work.

Well I figured I should wrap this thread up. I've grown three different Barney's strains Gorilla Zkittlez, LSD and now Pink Kush. I think I can say with some degree of confidence that Barney's Farm strains are inconsistent junk that I'll never touch again.

I harvested three weeks ago and ended up with a little over 260 grams dried and a ton. Most of it fluffy buds that were annoying to trim... In fact I was so disappointed by the results that I considered turning it all into edibles. I've smoked a little and it's a pretty good high, but I prefer the Chocolate Mint OG I've been smoking.

IMG_1135.jpegIMG_1136.jpgIMG_1132.jpgIMG_1137.jpg

On to my next grow. I got my hands on some Reserva Privada Cole Train and OG 18 seeds. I've already popped three of the cole train for the next grow, I anticipate moving them into the buckets this coming weekend.

Bigger update... My next grow will be happening in my new and improved grow room. Once I move into the buckets I'll start a new thread, I don't want my thread to have anything to do with barney's at all.

That's probably not a bad idea. The end of May early June is the best time to start growing here, at least that's when my mom starts doing her planting. I'm not going to mess around with autos anymore either. I think I want to try a photoperiod plant outdoors next year. I still have room for one more with the 4 plant limit.

I'm not sure if that would make any difference with autos. I've read a lot of people grow these at 18/6 light cycle. It's gotten a lot bigger than when I last posted pics and it's well into flower now. Here's a pic from this morning. I discovered that some mushrooms have taken up home in the soil lol.

Great thread for sure, how far of distance is the screen from the top of the container about 1.5' or less. My next grow will have scrog.

Ive heard bad stuff on Barneys. That chocolate mint looks good!

Thanks. I run my screen 10" above the top of my bucket, need to leave some room so I can get under the screen to pump water in and out. That's my next project for this room, figure out how I'm going to run a screen by the big opening of the doors.

Hi LG, everything looking good as per usual. Hope you are doing well.

Best of luck.
Hi @diggs99 Good to see you, I'm doing well and hope you are too.
