Is it ready to flush?

Should I flush the plant, what you think?
Judging by those pics you are weeks away yet. Don't rush it, the plants look fantastic so clearly you put in good work, patience will reward you greatly. Wait for your microscope, wait for your pistols to stop stretching and start checking your trichomes. You bulk up the most in the last couple weeks so resist any urges to rush the final growing time.

Patience... let buds form more ... add weight / bulk / pistil color off ( mature ) . Don’t bother about triches for a few weeks.
Keep feed going....

Too easy to chop too early and end up with grassy smelling shit.

Well don't sweat it, flushing is HIGHLY overrated. Studies have shown it does nothing except actually cause elevated levels of zinc for some reason.
can you link any other studies?

I found this which does mention increased Iron and zinc levels. but also says they are within "normal levels"

Fortunately one study doesn't make something overrated in the scientific community I hope more research is eventually done.

This backs up at least far reducing nutrient feeds at the end of flower.

"Plants that are nearing the end of their life cycle will uptake fewer nutrients as they remobilize nutrients from other plant parts. This may explain why little difference was observed in the mineral content of flower flushed for different times."

I did not see mention of RO being used for the flushing but I imagine that is the case. It raises some interesting questions about flushing for sure.
I Personally just try to drastically reduce what I feed up till the last two weeks then straight water maybe some additives. but not heavy npk.

Statistically the study can be improved on but its a good starting point, sign me up to be a tester...

CONCLUSION

In a first of its kind study, Rx Green Technologies evaluated the effects of flushing period on yield, potency, terpenes, mineral content, and taste characteristics of Cannabis flower. Overall, the length of the flushing period did not impact yield, potency, terpenes, or taste characteristics of Cannabis flower. Taste test results indicated a trend toward improved flavor and smoke quality with the zero-day flush. While there were no significant differences in nutrient content, there was a trend toward increased iron and zinc in flower flushed for 14 days. The results of this trial indicate that there is no benefit to flushing Cannabis flower for improved taste or consumer experience

I am not going to bother digging for them. People have their minds made up on the matter so why bother.

Thing is, even nutrient manufacturers like GH recommend feeding to the end, only flushing for a couple days.
