LED lights question

Hello all, first attempt at an indoor grow. Just in the process of gathering all my equipment. I made the mistake of buying two of the blurples, but after doing some browsing here I realized it's not to late to return them and purchase two SF-1000s. My question is... after looking into the power draw (approx 100w) per light, should I consider keeping one of the blurples to add more wattage to my tent.

Tent is a 2x4x5, I plan on doing 3 autos with LST to deal with the vertical limitations.

Appreciate any advice. TIA.

You probably want at least 30 to 40 watts per square foot that has a good even spread. If you can achieve that you should be good. I use 4 cob led's in a 2x4 and run about 35 watts per sqft.

Alright, sounds like I may need a bit more wattage then. Thanks for the reply.

It's a personal preference. The two SF lights is enough to get you through the entire grow, but the flowers might not as dense as they could be. You could always return the purples and then bank the money then add more light if you feel you don't like the results. I did a grow in soil with 2 sf 1000s and a 315 CMH in a 4 x 4 tent, my total watts were lower than what people here recommend but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I run a ts2000L in my 2x4 works perfect.
Not going to lie I placed the order for the sf1000s this morning still half awake before I made this thread. I ended up cancelling that and placed an order for the TSL 2000w by Mars Hydro. Meets the coverage and wattage I need. Think I should be good now, how high do you keep yours from your plants in the different stages or do you just adjust the dimmer?

I'm gonna tell ya those lights are badass. I run two tsl2000 and my only complaint is all that power comes with some heat. Saw awesome results though.

That's unfortunate for him. Mine are each over twice that old and regardless of the situation a person you know has found themselves in my results dont change. Wink wink

Heat might actually be a not too bad thing for me. I have a large insulated shed with an electric floor board heater, but it's costly to run that so I'm hoping the heat from the light will help limit the amount I have to use the heater. I live pretty far north, it can get a bit chilly at night time and hot during the day. I'll just have to be a little diligent when it comes to monitoring temps I guess.

I'll look at upgrading in the future, I've already purchased and cancelled or returned 4 lights from Amazon lol. I'll stick with the TSL 2000 for this grow and see how it turns out. I'm anxious to get the tent setup and get started already.

I'd say the light you've got is gonna get you fine results at least for this run. Rest assured.

how much heat we are talking of? mine still in the box and i gotta wait before setting it up, just curious
Well as you probably know they are adjustable. With two of them all the way up (630 true watts) my 4x4 tent goes from 68 degrees outside to about 85-87 inside with no air movement. With a six inch inline fan and two oscillating fans I'm able to maintain 76-78 degrees

alright , guess i made the right choice by taking a 6inch duct instead of the 4 inch they recommend lol
