CURING TIPS FROM EXPERIENCE GROWERS

Not much in the cure bro, you basically store your "dry" bud at or below 62% and burp at least once a day.

If you are picking up foul oders, bad taste etc you are better off re-evaluating your flowering time & method of drying.

This was a good read back when, I had it bookmarked still.

I must agree with SPL. Curing isn’t as complicated as some people make it. Throw a boveda or integra boost pack in the jar, and burp once a day. That’s pretty much it. The longer the cure the stronger the smell and better the taste. The magic happens during the dry period. Nail that down, and curing is nothing more than a finishing touch to the dry.

^ this except id say " ur dried buds at over 60% and under 70%. and once a day will be fine, every couple is ok to. Ur just after some O2 exchange.
After a couple weeks u can then store them (i pref 62ish).

From what i understand the bacteria that is active in the cure dies at under 60% and cannot be restarted. But im no scientist.

bacteria thrives at 10-15% moisture level in the bud.

No idea how air humidity relates to bacteriaz access to residual bud moidture when dried.

I agree that properly drying, before curing, is just as important. What a lot of people don’t realize is that burping the jars is not just about humidity control, but is also done to replenish the oxygen in the jar for the bacteria that helps along the curing process. I personally have a hard time remembering to burp the jars and I’ve forgotten to close them back up in the past. For my last harvest, I built an “auto burping” system, and it worked very well. All it requires is two one-way valves for each jar, and air pump, and a timer. I set mine to push air through the jars for 15-20 minutes a day, for 2 weeks, and my last batch came out amazing. If you have a huge harvest, you can also skip the individual jars, and do the same thing with buckets. They guy I got this idea from cures pounds at a time in 5gal buckets.

Some dude used to be on here spouting dry buds til branches snap clean, then just bag/jar, no need to burp.

I always thought he was tripping acid.

I got lazy as fuck for my past few harvest. I let those bitches hang for 1 month.

Trim all the frostless leaves, minor manicure.

Smell is strong and great, still sticks to fingers.

Flowers retain their color, which may oppose what growers recommend, everyone who buys weed wants colorful flowers though, not dark brown.

Most importantly, you don't need to worry about humidity/mold, burping etc.

Dry that shit good. Jar it. Enjoy carefree storage, although I try to open anything in storage at least once or twice a month.

I used to do a "proper cure" I can't justify the extra work/precaution.

Any links to the bacteria oxygen idea?

It's easy to create artificial gasses oxygen nitrogen methane especially co2 you name it.

I would LOVE a less work but great buds curing method. I am going to try your method on one of my autos. I have 2 more ready soon and want the best smoke flavor and color. Having a tough time deciding the easiest but best buds in the long run method.

Yeah man, make sure they are dry dry dry. I've had whole auto plants dry for 3 weeks and still be too wet after bagging for a few days lol
