so it's not root rot? should i leave it to dry or do i need to remove the dampened part of the root? It's all purpled out so I'm not sure what I'm looking at...is it a seedling with dirt on it?
EDIT: I figured out how to zoom the picture, it looks like dampening off from too much water.
Alright I'm preparing to replant in drier medium. Shall update. thanks!Imo I would gently replant I don't believe it is root rot.
Good luckAlright I'm preparing to replant in drier medium. Shall update. thanks!

well i started a new seed and here's a pic with no purple. How is it looking after 4 days of germination? is it lanky? Why is the purple light on? Does your phone/camera not have flash? (it does)
That looks like a baby alien from the movie Alien. I'm sorry that's not more helpful and definitely sarcastic, but that's all that I can deduce among all the purple. Would you believe that purple is actually my favourite colour irl too? All these blurple LED manufacturers are going to ruin my love for purple I swear !!!
Dont bury the stem, thats asking for a case of damping off. If you must then only do it once the base of the stem has become woody. If that seed husk doesnt come off that will be the problem.well i started a new seed and here's a pic with no purple. How is it looking after 4 days of germination? is it lanky?
is it safe to gently remove the husk now or should i just wait for a few more days for it to drop by its own? not really confident to remove it as I've never done it before.Dont bury the stem, thats asking for a case of damping off. Probably will wait for day 8? before i manually remove the husk. Hopefully all goes well. i sowed this one about 1/2" though probably would do 3/4" next time. thank u for all the inputs! As that article notes, not planting the seed deep enough is commonly the cause of husks not dropping on their own. This is also a cause of "leggy" seedlings. Next time you might plant the seed like 1/2" to 3/4" deeper.
While you wait you may want to mist it liberally a few times a day.Probably will wait for day 8? before i manually remove the husk.
Well I've done it several times, I'm talking about when you repot your seedlings, when they are like 3-5 weeks old, not when they are seedlings anymore.Dont bury the stem, thats asking for a case of damping off.
