Anyone do a strip build yet for the EB gen 3’s? I’m thinking of maybe doing one for a 4x4 tent to flower under. Hoping someone can give me some advice on how many I would need? How hard to drive them? And what driver I would need?

So if I ran 24 of the 2’ strips

Ran each at 20v puts the current at ~1200ma each strip hlg-600-h20. It would be right at the limit of the driver at 28 amps

The 560mm ones are the closest to 2 feet they make. 560mm = 22 inches. They also have 11 and 44 inch eB's Digikey carries them.

well to correct you they Only stock 1190mm which is 46” and still to large for my tent so I was going with the 2’ strips which are 590mm or 23” but I can stagger them to fit in my 44” tent. Anyways.

Going with 2’ strips (590mm ) what would you guys recommend to properly light a 4x4 tent. I know I can go to led gardener and get all the info for a gen2 build but I can’t get gen 2 strips any more

Yeah my bad searched a part number out of the eb gen3 data sheet but didnt realize it was to gen2 or maybe the slims web page on digikey. I for can't find any reg gen 3s just the slim gen3s but it look like they do have the 590mm in stock for 3500 k anyways. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/bridgelux/BXEB-L0590U-35E1500-C-C3/976-BXEB-L0590U-35E1500-C-C3-ND/10279848
This is what I was looking at

Can you help me spec something out for a 4x4 using these?

Looks like you can get 17 maybe 18 of those per a HLG-240H-C700 driver. I would run two of those for a 4x4 for about 500 watts total. You would just need to figure out what to use as a fixture to hold the strips and drivers. Maybe just a large metal sheet.

Isbit better to run 4 feet or 2 feet strips?
Depends on your space and how often you think you will have to move the lights around. Sometimes a 4ft strip can offer savings and economy, but then you have a longer fixture to manhandle. And then if you ever need to light a small space those 4ft lights are going to be relegated to side lighting or sitting in storage. But for larger tents they are ok.

In what way can a 4 foot strip offer more economical saving

Little things like connectors can add to the final cost. You might need more with shorter strips, depending on your driving requirements. Do a search for examples. Or the longer strips might offer economy from a price perspective. You would have to research prices and judge yourself.
