Hey all just jarred my green crack i cut down so, i wet trimmed all the individual buds and put them on screens to dry within 3 to 4 days all my smaller buds were crispy through to the stems the stems still bent rather than snapped i jarred them...the bigger buds were jarred about 3 days later when theu were dry through to the stems which only bend, now im super paranoid about mold becaise when i open the jars every 4 or 5 hours all the buds are sticking together and becoming moist again should i just put all my buds in paper bags for a night or something to get all the moisture out or just continue doing what im doing? I cant smell any ammonia but now when i squeeze my buds they smell slightly lile fresh trimmed bud again..

That happen to me before! Let them dry slowly. though they might feel dry they still had water in the stems. If you dont let it dry slow that hay smell with never go away. I learned from a lot of trial & error I havent wet trimmed since.

It sounds like you wanna dry them a little more before jarring. The mini hygrometers make it really easy. I always have one in each of my jars. You can also open the jar for awhile each day, but I helps to have the hygrometer to know what the RH is. Especially for us rookies.
Well they dont smell like hay which im happy about lol and yea iv been opening up the jars every 4 or 5 hours and shaking the jars to loosen them up again then leaving the lids off for about 30 mins each time maybe ill try and track down some hygrometers for the jars what im wondering is iff the buds should still feel dry each time i open the jars or if some moisture sweating back into the buds is normal

Don't listen to everything you read. It will dry different everywhere. It's all about the environment.

The premise is it gets dry enough to smoke and long enough for the green taste to subside into dank flavours.
Its not just drying its not jarring till the taste is done and it smokes sweet. You dont even need to jar, should be good enough after drying and waiting for its taste and smell.
A lot of old pros gave a time of two weeks as a guide, suggest you get their basics down before flipping through the more modern rubbish.
If i stopped calling it drying and made a reference to waiting for it to be finished and ready less would jar bud that still wants to loose water.
Couldnt make it any easier, most other ways are overcomplicated andcyou end up jarring and fucking with humidity in the confusion.

You domt want to slow dry, get away from this concept. You dont want to fast dry either. What you want is to natural dry, hang them where its not too hot or too cold and leave them two weeks.
After a week it should be DRY, dont snao stems or crush bud just smoke some up, dry bud smokes as it has low enough moisture content to ignight in fire. Should be a simple test of dryness and fun at the same time.
But as soon as its dried its not got its taste or the moisture evened out fully, thats what the second weeks for.
Do a load of grows and work it all out, its simple but everyones different.

Not true man. Weed dries faster in a drier climate. If I just hang my plants they would be dry as fuck after 2 weeks. If I was in Hawaii I'm sure it would be easy for it to take 2 weeks due to the RH there vs here, even with a humidifier. Everyone's got their own way though, so whatever works for you.
9k so what would you recommend? I mean 4 days in my tent and all the small stuff was dry to the stems and 3 days after that the big stuff was dry right to the stems...do you wait until the stems snap to jar it or do you jar it when theres still some moisture in the stems because ill agree that if i leave it all out for 2 weeks itll be dust after 10 days

The basic idea of drying plants is not specific to cannabis.
Ive explained the time needed to get taste smell and be finished not just the dry oeriod.
Try form some concensus or couldnt care what your ooinion is or where you live as its just a simple matter dealt with in most industries not just you personally.

If they stick together big time, place on the screen again or a baking sheet and spread them out to dry. Its an art somewhat, and you should not need to put them back overnight that is too long imo. A few hours at a time, rejar, back out if over 68% imo. As it goes under 70% you can gently shake them apart in the jar and leave the jar open for an hour or two. Hygrometers are key imo and cheap, about $1 each.
