Harvesting time confusion?!

So I’m reading up on when to harvest my autos as the time is coming up.
Apparently, it is best to harvest when around 70% of the hairs have turned orange.. my question is; how come the weed I buy doesn’t have white hairs on it if 30% of the hairs will still be white when I harvest?

My Pink kush auto’s white hairs are turning orange and my Auto Alaskan Purple is pretty much all white hairs instead of a couple.
If anyone has any idea of how long these puppies have left that’d be good.

Where did you hear it's best to harvest a 70% red hairs? If you do that you'll harvest immature bud.

The one on the left has another few weeks left. The one on the right needs at least another month and probably closer to 6 weeks. You want the pistils to change color and start receding into the calyx's as they swell.

90+ % of the stigma(hairs) will turn reddish and begin to shrink towards the buds, that is the first sign of maturity.

At that point the plant still has 2-3ish weeks left during which it will swell up internally and increase in density and weight. The bracts(calyx) will begin to appear more plump That is the second sign of maturity.

At the end of the 2-3weeks you can begin checking the ripeness of the trichomes. You want to look at trichomes on the buds not leaves. You also want to look at the trichomes from the side to be able to see through them. If you look from the top the bulbous head of the trichome can magnify the opaque stalk underneath giving a false sense of maturity.

It is very easy to harvest plants too early, 90% of the industry does it. Some do it because they don’t know any better some donut because they don’t care about quality. Harvesting early gets you less yield, less flavor, less smell and less high.

It’s nearly impossible to harvest plants too late. You have to ignore them for weeks before they reach a point that they are degrading.
