Canadian Cannabis Industry & Jobs

I've been scanning though this forum and similar to get an idea of what the legal industry is looking like in Canada. There doesn't seem to be too many posts about this, or I might be looking in the wrong places.
So I'm just wondering what it is like, working at a legal canadian grow-op and how difficult it is to get an entry level job, such as a bud trimmer?

Since the entire industry in Canada is laying off people by the hundreds, with the companies bleeding money non-stop, share prices in the shitter, constant closing of facilities and with all of the accusations of illegal behaviour and activity, I'd say the industry is a pretty volatile one to be working in.

Equally infected with greedy politicians and business people. Equally as shady and sketchy. Equally rife with people trying to get rich without any regard that we as Canadians are still having our rights stomped on by limiting our use of a plant.

Equal in underpaying staff. Equal in stock market drop offs. Equal in illegal behaviour. Equal in everything, including cannabis being recalled due to mold and other health-related issues.

That's a very brutal outlook. Thanks for the input. I guess the legalization of the miracle plant and super food did nothing to cleanse its reputation.

The industry is also EXTREMELY over-regulated, having to adhere to food and pharma.

I thinks cannabis's reputation is fine in Canada, it's the greedy hands that won't cease their meddling and just give the plant to the people to do what they will with.

Cannabis' reputation in Canada is excellent; the gray market's booming.

The problems stem from over-regulation and pressure from investors, driving the price per gram too high. Companies are dumping huge amounts of money trying to create the next big cannabis marketing trend; When in reality, people just want quality flower and some damn gummies at a reasonable price.

I just checked out a new shop that opened around the corner, and they're still trying to sell flower for between $10-13 per gram, while the gray market is more in the range of $6-9 per gram.

The industry will be fine once regulation is relaxed, and companies in it for a quick money grab are gone.

Plenty of jobs are available right now, but if you value job security, I would suggest getting experience working a more stable crop, like tomatoes. Then use the experience gained to transition into the cannabis industry once it stabilizes.

Thanks, excellent input. How would you define the grey market as opposed to the black market and what are the legal differences between the two?
