RUN OFF TOO HIGH!!

Every time I give my plants the correct PH (5.8-6.2) an EC (1-1.2) the run off always reads 2.4 EC I’ve been watering with nutes every other day so now would it be best to do feed/water/feed/water etc... to gradually bring those levels down abit?

What medium? Coco?

Assuming its coco from your PH, you should be watering every day and not letting it dry out, you should flush with low ec solution and stick to watering once or more a day to 10-20% run off, make sure they don't sit in the run off.
Don't feed water feed. feed every day.

If its soil then that's a different kettle of fish.

am i right in assuming ec is electrical conductivity, used to gage the concentration of food in the soluton? if so, that would mean that the coco is leaching out nutes, surley that would mean giving it a flush, ie just water for a couple of days then feed again. or am i way off?

Assuming he is in coco , you should never feed just plain water in coco.
The higher EC run off is probably down to the dry back of the coco since its getting watered every other day, that means the unused nutrients dry in the medium causing a build up of salts.
However some coco that's pre buffered and well treated will be 2EC out of the bag, like canna coco for example, so its not always just a salt build up. But with it been 2.4 EC you have to assume some salt build up from improper use unless it was not buffered properly like coco bricks.

Yeah EC is electrical conductivity. :bigjoint:

It is pre buffered coco mate it’s called ecothriveclite 70 coco 30 perlite + 1% charge.. so what should I do to bring it down just started feeding every day instead or dilute the nutrient water? The plants look fine no nute burn or deficiency

Since they are so young I would say its due to the ec of the coco out of the bag, since it wouldn't of gone from 1.2 to 2.4 in such a short period of time.
I would just feed till run off no more than 1ec for now , only seedlings. A lot of that 2.4ec will be K which coco naturally releases over time.

If you start to have problems then take a run off reading and if needed flush with very low EC nutrient solution and then continue to feed as normal.

Bottom line is don't worry if everything is healthy.

Have never checked ph of runoff or done the 10-20% runoff thing , have never watered once a day only every 3-4 days - grow in coco and 7 gallon fab pots .. but does not mean I'm right just works for me ...

Corey is correct though- Bottom line is don't worry if everything is healthy :bigjoint:
