problem with metal halide

i am haveing a problem hooking up my 175watt metal halide light bulb. MY OUTLETS WONT RUN IT!!!!!!!!!!! i tried it in a surge strip and stuff, my cieling light WTF it doesnt turn on, i asked my dad (he wired this shit) and he says theres a limit on the lights because they r like 40 watt outlets or some shit


WAIT also i think i blew it out just now (editing this now)i found a clamp light that worked it turned on realy fast and shut off (it just flickerd blue 1 time) did i blow it out?

lol no way, some times they take a while to turn on. mine has a 15 min protective turn off . just try plugging it in and leaving it for a while, or u might just be boned.

Do you hear any buzzing? If so them maybe a ballast or ignition problem. If your not hearing anything maybe its just poorly wired (no offense to your pops).

it isnt buzzing, it was when i stole it from the guy lol!!!!!!!! and today i whent near that place again and the one i didnt steal wasnt buzzing and worked fine

i stole this light from a midget person who STOLE AND SMOKED $30.00 worth of my weed, i bough $60 worth of bud and the guys like ill hide it here and he wont find it, well he found it, i stole a lightbulb from him, if mine blew out ill steal another because i hate him, he burned down a couple peoples houses too because he thought it would look cool

I was waiting to see if I was the only one who thought it was ludicrous to help a self admitted thief. You are one fucked up dude. I cant decide if you just have alot of balls, or you are really that stupid as to come here and admit that kind of shit.

And to add insult to injury, Ill bet money that he's "stolen" himself a bulb, but was too stupid to realize that there was a reason there was a big, heavy box that went with it. THAT'S probably why it wont light more than a blue flicker.

....man try getting a ballast for that bulb, you cant just plug it into a regular socket. You cant just stick it in any clamp light you have sitting around your house. You have successfully stole a bulb. Now all you need is the ballast thats worth 10x more than the now useless bulb.

I seriously suggest doing some research on HID lighting.

Not trying to be an ass or anything, and Im not calling anyone a thief, But you do realize that stealing his bulb makes you No Better then him for stealing your herb.
