Quick question about cloning

If I take a cutting from my plant grown in coco/perlite and place the clone into a soil mix, will it express different traits? If so, once I grow it out and take a clone off of the soil plant and place that clone into coco again, will it keep the traits of growth from the soil mother or will it be the exact same genetics as the first plant grown in coco? Hope that’s not too confusing

It will stay the same genetics as the original mother.

The plant's DNA doesn't know if it's in soil/coco/hydro.

No changes in traits if everything is equally fed/grown.
They just grow larger more quickly in hydro.

Some people claim taste, but I'm not touching that subject here...

Cheers for the reply. The reason I was asking is because I want to keep my genetics going but only have 1 good light, I figured I may as well chuck the clones under a cheap light and in soil to veg until I harvest my girls now and then I can take more clones to put into coco. The reason I want to do this is to save on my nutrients, figured it would be a waste using drain to waste hydro under a cheap light .

It is always great to have mother plants. I tend to keep mine in soil just because I never get hollow stems with soil like happens commonly with hydro, but with the lower lighting levels you are planning I don't see that becoming a real issue anyway.

As @.Smoke mentioned, the genetics will be the same regardless so go with whatever method most suits your needs.

I am experimenting with mother plants for a while, and I didn't know this. Thanks!
Yeah hollow stems tend to happen on the beefier tops with hydro. If you like to clone off the smaller bottoms then it's a non issue. I like to take big 6 inch cuts from the beefy tops, more biomass = bigger head start. Rooting hollow stemmed cuts can definitely be problematic for sure.

My biggest problem is to keep the motherplant 'bushy' and not 'stretched'
Well LED lighting with more blue spectrum like a 4000K for example can help mitigate stretch and of course preventing weak lighting and hot temperatures will help limit stretch as well. Genetics is a big factor too, some strains like to grow straight up and bunch all the branches together where other strains like to spread out like a christmas tree and everything in between. I pretty much assume you already know all this though.

I do, but I also have to admit that I do not control that room too much.
The experiment is primarily to look at cloning in hydrocloners and what works best. A lot of fun!
The strain I even have to look up. Just got some seeds, so I have no clue what the characteristics of this strain are.
For a light I use a T-neon which is even 9500K.
