Led light recommendations.

I was thinking of buying a 2000w led light from Amazon, but there are a few different options. What should I be looking for in a LED light? I had a 600 watt one before but I know that is not strong enough.

Are you willing to DIY? If so what’s the space you want to light and the amount of money you want to spend

If you read the fine print, your 2000w light is around 200w at the wall. You haven't told us the dimensions of your grow area, but if it's much bigger than a 2x2 that will be inadequate for quality grows.
I know from personal experience that for most of us it isn't possible to start off with top shelf equipment. That said, you need to tell us a little more about what you're doing if you'd like us to help you avoid really throwing your money away.

White light, not lights with a blue/purple color known as blurples. Most lights on amazon are crap. HLG is very good, spider farmer is lower quality and mars are low quality, but at least they changed to white light.

So for the same cost of that light the OP could diy or spend a smidge more and get a better light from somewhere else.
List all thats needed to build a better light if you can.

I just got into the led world. Its better then a purple. I only paid 339 for it. Sf4000 is $590. If i get a year out of it thats good enough for me cause i'll be on to something better by then, the lighting tech will be totally different in 2 years.

List all thats needed to build a better light.
2 Qb96 $60 each after discount total$120
1 Hlg320h-54a$90
Aluminum angle $20
$30 wire and plug & hangers
overall $260
or
Qb120 4 pack for $100 after discount $90
1 hlg 320h-2800a $90
Hangers wire and plug $30
$210

Could go cheaper if you dump the aluminum angle and get eye bolts and hangers
I’m pretty sure the maxisun 4000 is what $400? What is the actual wall pull on that what diodes? What does that light offer, that a cheap DIY with better quality Wouldn’t?

could get the total down even more with an hlg-240h-24a driver and push the qb120s to their rated max.

Im trying to light up two 4x8 hydro trays so...
Led strips then, I’ve been playing around with pricing it out, if those $5 led strips were still around you could of lit an entire 4x8 with 20 of those plus the two hlg 480h & the aluminum angle wire and plugs. EB gen 2 are still cheap and the f series are well worth it.

also if you used 4 sets of Qb120 on hlg-320h-2800a, you could have a nice setup for a 4x8 area could even go to 3 in that area. HLG Has the wiring diagram and has said the qb120 will cap out on the hlg-320h-2800a

I would take my time researching what you need and or think you will want. I wouldn’t exactly subscribe to the whole idea that you will have to replace it in a year or 2 due to advancement in technology. The good LED are made to last a long ass time.
But from what im reading in the next 5 years the Umol/j will be up to 4-5

But at what point are you saving money when you keep spending money on the latest tech? Kind of like when I was buying a new heat pump for my house I did the math and it would take me about the life of the heat pump to recoup the cost difference between a high efficiency and the base model. With the good equipment that’s available now I think we spend to much time splitting hairs between them. I mean there are still a ton of guys using HPS and magnetic ballers and that’s old ass shit. Just like when wanting to upgrade vehicle for better fuel efficiency, but the cheapest vehicle is the one you already own.

The grow area is approximately 5 feet by 4 f
You will not cover that with a '2000w' amazon led light which only draws a fraction. Youd need around 600-700w of high end leds, well spread out. 6 qb96 on a hlg600 driver would be the cheaest and easiest bang for buck setup imho. It will cost about 500 and change.
Any amazon lights with loads of colors will underperform, weve all seen it before. Get proper leds or even loght less than your entire area.
Or even get a HPS.
