mitsubishi is almost like the pioneer of minisplits they beeen in the game for a while however i have no experience for them as far as a grow room goes but as an hvac tech i can tell u they are worth everydollar
Naw man I believe it I just needed something fast and dont have access to the pro installer needed for those. Definitely will get one once I got my room flowing steady this only my second harvest. So I am still tweaking things.

Well, to be honest I've never had perfect conditions, after I got my c02 hooked up at last spot my damn mini split there quit working so had to vent and couldn't run c02. In my last spot which was an 8x11 room with 2 4x8 tables and 4 gavitas I hit 9.5 lbs so almost 2.5 per light with no c02.

It's possible to hit 3+ lbs per light with the gavitas or similar de lights. Im hoping to do much better this run as I was able to spread my lights out a bit more to cover more canopy. 4 lights over 2 4x8 tables was a little too small of footprint for the lights I believe. Although this run was from seed so we shall see what happens. I got a mono crop vegging now and that will really show me what this room is capable of, plus I'm hoping to get c02 hooked up before flipping the next run to flower.
See thats wt I need to get up to, i have some 3 cheapy DL 1000 watter De and first run was in a 8x8 tent with hardly any overhead room. Now I got my room together much bigger space but had to get my mini split unit. Also sounds like you got hydro running I been still in the BS soil days lol so messy and a hassle.

I'm in Coco, so still messy. I'd like to try rockwool but since moving I need to buy some more tables and set up drippers before I try it. For now I use big enough pots to only have to water once a day with a water wand and if I get run off I use a shop vac. It's labor intensive for sure the way I run it. That being said I can't grow in soil to save my life. I've tried it several times over the years. When I first started growing I used mostly DWC, after a few years of forced vacation and I got set back up to run again most large scale grows were running coco or rockwool so I went with coco.

I'm late to the party, but FWIW, I use a 18k btu Fujitsu Halcyon mini-split that has a built-in low ambient feature that allows me to run in the winter time down to something like -14 degrees. It's a very nice unit and I'd recommend Fujitsu being right up there with Mitsubishi's..

This would be nice especially where I'm located so far north. I had a tech quote me for 10 Tons of units one of them was either a Fujitsu or LG that he said was made for gardens and he said the Mitsubishi would be around the same range. He wanted 18.5 k to do it though and that was just out of my range. I'm gonna rock this Mr cool unit for a bit and see how it does and if it holds up okay I'll add some more of those for other rooms. I can air cool most of the year anyways so I'll start veg soon for my other flower room and by the time they are ready night temps will be low enough to air cool til I figure it out. Unless I hit bigger than expected numbers for current run in that case I'll buy another split system sooner.

To deal with crazy winter temps here I built a rather large stand with a roof that gets the units up off the ground because we regularly have like 4 ft of snow on the ground. If the units start to get too cold the shelter is big enough that I can add side panels to block wind and keep some of the warm air in there. If need be I could run my veg exhaust into the shelter to provide some heat as well. My unit says it will work down to 5 degrees, but it does sometimes get colder than that here. I have heard a lot of guys up here say that they build similar structures, mine is just a bit over kill for the one unit but I made it that way so I could hopefully fit 3-4 units when I eventually get the money.

Although, I have been thinking of just cramming as much supplemental lighting as I can into the rooms for winter and saying f*** the c02 and just air cool. Just cause I could add so many watts and still air cool the room. My winter's are pretty long here and I feel that unless you are maxed out on available light that adding more light ups the yield more than c02 would.

Ok so you would recommend coco over soil, how was your yields and how hard was it to run DWC. I been contemplating Making my own DWC with the totes and pumps but haven't tried coco before and have heard good things.

On a large scaled DWC only makes sense with RDWC which has more moving parts to fail or get clogged. I'm not sure I recommend coco over any other medium cause it is as messy as dirt. On the other hand I get decent yield from coco and could get even more if went to multifeeds I just need to design and build an irrigation system. But really any hydro medium with multifeeds drips per day is gonna boost yield. I'm thinking of trying rockwool as it seems much cleaner.

I usually get around an ounce per gallon pot size. So 3-4 ounces on a 3 gallon pot. 5-6 on 5 gallon pots. I could get more per plant but I have a habit of packing in a lot of plants. I usually ran 9 3 gallon pots per 4x4 area.

That was all at my old spot so now I've went with 5 gallons and bigger plants. I cover a 5x6 area with each de light and have roughly 8 plants per light. Really a bit more plants then I was planning but the whole run is from seed and that's how many females I found minus a few herms and runts.

It's not been my best run had some issues with being in new spot but I don't think it's gonna turn out too bad, and the quality looks good.

Ok im going to do little more research find out whats exactly the best for me. Trying to get my perpetual system going. I got a room and my tent setup waiting on seeds to come.
