I use my small scale to weight out a gram and mix it up in a gallon of filtered water then just fill a sprayer with that. How do you mix your epsom spray? I've been adding it to my res but I'd rather not mess with my ppm ratios so I'm thinking I wanna try the spray method next dose.
You dont really want to spray anything on them ones they start to flower. When they go under the LEDs do you still give the same 1 gram mix? And after that how often do you spray once under the LEDs?
Thanks. Thats the whole reason I took the effort to put it all up here. This setup has the waterfall pump drawing the water from the res into the waterfall, is this ideal or are you guys using seperate pumps for circulation & the waterfall? I will be sticking with the 3" pipe & the general entire layout, but i'm looking at changing the waterfall from 3/4" tubing down to either 1/2 or 1/4" pvc with some sort of fitting on the end like you guys to take advantage of the pressure as looking at Gary's video , the waterfall seems pretty weak. Considering that I'm looking to ditch the whole air pump portion of the system ( thanks guys ) .
Would you have any basic tips or suggestions that may help me get this right the first time?
I'm hoping to be able to avoid the need of a chiller, I have my qb drivers extended outside of the tent try try & get temps down as well as having the tent on concrete in the garage. I'll be running a sterile system so with enough tinkering I think i should be able to keep it in a fairly happy range. If not then i'll have to bite the bullet, & the air pump savings will help mitigate the blowThanks. Thats the whole reason I took the effort to put it all up here.
As few pumps possible is ideal.
Most of us with bigger systems use 1 for our chiller and one for the rest.
The waterfalls are the circulation. You can put it on a bulkhead in the res or something to get it out of the water if you want to run it inline.
For that size system a 500-600gph would be plenty if you step down to 1/2" and use some caps like I do
With that sized pump you could use that one pump and run through your chiller before pumping into your system if you wanted.

When you say step down to 1/2" do you mean from the pump or just at the site of the waterfall, I'm still undecided on exact materials but i'm thinking tubing from the pump to the buckets with pvc on the inside may be the easiest to get put together.
Thanks so much for the insight, psyched to get this ordered and running!
Get this (1000gph one) and run it at 50%.I'm hoping to be able to avoid the need of a chiller, I have my qb drivers extended outside of the tent try try & get temps down as well as having the tent on concrete in the garage. glad to see this method going well for others! Here's what I currently have going. Finally got my short timer and set the on time for the sprayers to 5 secs and off for a minute, the roots aren't really soaking anymore and they're starting to branch out. These are 12 days from seed

It definitely saves a lot in water usage and nutrients + flushing that big of a system. Shit, I feel like I could run on this little thing for a couple more weeks hah.glad to see this method going well for others!
After a while it starts to be a pain to keep the roots untangled and you gotta transplant. mine will stay in there a while still. It definitely saves a lot in water usage and nutrients + flushing that big of a system. Shit, I feel like I could run on this little thing for a couple more weeks hah.
I'm also part of the waterfall crew, I didn't use a chiller on my first run with this system but I added pool shock and it worked just fine, no bad looking roots ever. I have since added a chiller but still add pool shock as a preventative measure. Just wanted to add that it can be done without a chiller.I'm hoping to be able to avoid the need of a chiller, I have my qb drivers extended outside of the tent try try & get temps down as well as having the tent on concrete in the garage.
