Do you ever regret Topping?

I do sometimes. Like this run. Growing two, new to me 70% sativas. I assumed they would grow too tall for my tent. So I topped them. They are growing like short indica bushes in veg. Feel like I will be wasting tent space and losing yield. Maybe I will get lucky on the stretch.

My sativa that I had to cut down during my first grow looked the same as my short bushy indica ladies in veg. Then they went about 4x height in 12/12.

I have only done 2 grows, but 5 strains among them and the gold leaf just would not stop growing. Even after the initial stretch it kept creeping up until it was in my lights. I was too inexperienced to supercrop and tie it into submission, so I ended up with 5 dinky little indica plants instead of 10 total plants.

I mean 70% sativa doesn't always mean it's gonna grow like one. Hybrids appear to do what the hell they want. If you like a sativa high have you considered trying to find a pure one? If your lighting is indoor you generally want short and bushy no matter what because indoor light penetration is shitty compared to out hot sky ball up there.

There are some Mass Medical strains where the breeder specifically says do not top. I have more seeds left over from this run. I won't top them next time and see how it goes.

Yes, I grow a little bit of everything. Usually if something is mostly sativa, it grows on the taller side. Not this time.
There are always exceptions to rules tho like alot of the Himalayan sativa strains have almost indica fat leaves in veg but thin ones in bloom plus most weeds a hybrid anyway so worth bearing that in mind regarding leaf shape also afghani strains can have both in the same strain too both fat or thin leaves and variations inbetween

I like topping, not gonna look back unless I start experimenting with autos. Not sure how I feel about 2 toppings vs 1. Gonna see how my double topped one yields compared to single in a month or so
