What Nutrients to use in New seedlings

are there holes drilled in those pots? You need to add some drainage if not.

Yeah i got holes that are on the sides and bottom ad well. Also have saucers on bottom to catch the run off. I also got a little fan running to get air flow

Yeah, sorry, forgot the title of your thread by the time I got down here haha. If you transplant them into their own pots with fresh potting mix with a good mix of compost you shouldn't need to feed them for a couple more weeks. Unfortunately how long varies from mix to mix and im not at all familiar with Kellogg's.

Once they are ready for additional nutes it's really up to you what to use. I prefer dry nutes like Jack's, MegaCrop or Veg+Bloom. Not burning your seedlings is more about not overfeeding than which nutrient like to use.

There's hundreds of threads on here about nutrients so I would suggest spending some time reading around before buying anything. Just keep it simple to start.

I wouldn't use the calmag unless you see actually signs of having a deficiency.

As for feeding in soil, I usually do every other watering and increase/decrease/maintain frequency based off how the plant reacts. Never water on a schedule ... only when the plants need it. I usually wait until the pot feels nice and light before watering again.

Is that a fluorescent tube light? If so, like 2 to 3 inches above them.

The soil is staying damp so long because those buckets are kind of large for such small plants. They would also be happier if you had filled the pots more. Plants like airflow.

N is very important for vegging plants but there should be plenty in the compost (unless its bad compost)

Its a grow light that i purchased before i started the germination. Its LED.
I have 2 of these over the plants. Theyre probably about around 18 inches over them.
So, i shouldve added more soil? Is that what you meant? Yeah and i do have a little fan running with it until the lights go out. Then i restart it when they come back on. The light is 18/6
So in the mean time, ill just water them until i receive the fertilizer that i need and give them a feeding next week. Would you recommend that?

No it is granule which you mix with water. If thats the case, i would feed every other day. Also depends on the soil moisture? For instance, say i water it with nutrients, and i wouldnt need too again until sunday or monday?

You have small plants in big pots so that complicates watering and fertilizing. Not an ideal situation. Whatever the label says mix it 1/4 or less strength.

Yeah, those won't be enough light for long ... seedlings into early veg they'll be alright if you keep em close but you'll need more light sooner rather than later

Wow its a good thing i asked that question. But as in the picture, are the lights a little to high? Should i lower it closer to the plants?
I will look into getting a bigger light for future use. Now that i know, ill keep that in mind

Yeah, I'd have those about 12" away to start, if the plants start to stretch drop them down. LEDs don't throw much heat but the spectrum can be intense for young plants

Ok so, fan on throughout the day or should i stick with my schedule. On when the lights on and off during the dark?

Ok i will drop the lights for sure but keep an eye out for any changes or stretching. I will update in a couple of days. I will consider all the input that was shared today. Appreciate

I leave my fans on all day. Mold grows in the dark. Mold likes stale damp air. Fans prevent that.

Hello everyone. I am back to show update on my plants. It has been on 3 weeks now. I have separated the 2 plants that were growing together and so far it has been doing ok. I am posting pics of the progress on plants and give me input and thoughts on them. Thanks. They will be appreciated.
