what are standards for non mid or grade A top shelf weed?
Lots of factors differ for everyone so I'll explain my own. Terps, Terps, Terps. This is number 1 most important. I've smoked enough old school strains and enough newer strains to see a vast improvement on flavors. The fruit and candy like flavors make it delicious. Once you start pressing and get introduced to a ramped up terp profile then it's clear as day to see the difference. Give me fruit flavors or gas or chem all day. Cant stand pepper or anise flavors which is in most of the dinafem strains I grew. Potency is another one, compare GG4 or chem d, or GMO up to any strain Dinafem has to offer and these high thc strains are clear winners IMO.
I'm not cash cropping so I dont care about massive yields and prefer unique flavors and different highs.
For me this is the difference between Mids which is what I call dinafem gear to AAAA quada like the Fresh Biscotti I just grew out from Cannarado. I have friends begging me for a cut of the fresh biscotti, this is on another level.
If your into rosin then here is an example of FIRE that I get 80 bucks a gram for no questions asked. This is flower rosin immediately after pressing and tossed into a jar.
And here's a shot of her in flower.
Lastly I look at what markets are dictating as high sellers. I could grab a bag of the nicest white widow and a bag of some shitty grown outdoor gelato and I'll sell that gelato out before the white widow gets touched.
Again these are just my observations.
