Yes, it's totally normal. You can cover them up with more medium, or ignore the situation (which is what I do).

What I did was put cedar branches overtop so I don’t have to keep putting soil. Thanks tho bro helped a lot

I just covered with cedar branches bro by the time you buy all this soil it’s cheaper just to go buy a if bag but it’s the love of life and growth it’s worth it.
