Just signed up because my new home city is absolutely swimming in it but I can't hook up to save my life. So, rather than endure the slings and arrows of properly wary citizens, I'm going to grow it up at the hacienda.

Not in CA but in a MMJ state, so I will not be contributing to the backwards-assed non-economy of growing/providing that the state of CA created, but will still be on the right side of state law (if not fed).

Not my first rodeo, but every little bit of information helps.

Metaphysically or literally?

I can't hook up because I'm in a new place in a part of the States that I don't yet know culturally. Moving from place to place in my home state, large as it was, was no problem. It was only a matter of hours. You have to feel the pulse of the place in order to access it properly.

My job is highly conservative, so finding anyone willing to admit to being "Cool like that" is nearly zero.

I don't go to bars due to a combination of meds that preclude alchohol and just not being down with the alchohol crowd, so getting the neighborhood bar hookup is not going to happen. I gave it a shot a couple of times. Watched a fight the first time, complete with PD. Second time, (different place), just didn't spark. No matter how many conversations I started, the trail did not lead to where I wanted to go.

Age is probably a factor as well. I'm 45 and, therefore, invisible to anyone under 25 unless I stand right in front of them. Older smokers tend to be very cagey and stay away from the crowds.

On and on. No whining, just the facts. I rounded up some seeds and have nice little starts going. Shopping for the right spectrums this weekend. I'll travel home every so often and get a bud here or there I'm sure, but I don't sweat it.

MJ is a spice, not a meal. I like blazing hot chili, but I can eat hamburger helper for a while.

I hear ya, I'm 55 and new in Calgary here. Sort of was forced to start my own herb garden.
