If you're asking about filling your resovoir, 1oz per gallon. How much water to expanded EM1 do you use to water with ?
Quick note, I seen you posted the gallon and a 5 gallon jug, yes it will work. But expanding 5 gallons could take a hell of alot longer, never done it personally, I run 4 1 gallon jugs in a perpetual cycle, when one empties, I start on the next and re set the empty one.3/4 cup of each EM1 + Molasses to 1gal of water. You can get a Carboy Jug and airlock.

SIP's are really simple. I went on vacation for 5 days when my plants were one and a half months into flower. They were just fine. No watering.View attachment 4628163
Week 2.5 of flower. First time using @Greenthumbs256 's method, cant say I've ever had a plant that looked/grew better. Rate of growth is explosive (for soil), it's pretty exciting to watch.
Hopefully she still has enough stretch in her to fill that half of the screen, but I'm pleasantly surprised so far with the results in the SIPs.
I guess that I missed this. It looks like we are the senior members on here now. You can tell when your em1 is ready at any size when it reaches a ph of 3.5 or 3.6 and sits there for one week.
Also @MustangStudFarm and a few of you other guys that already know and have ran this method, I appreciate yall stepping in and helping with some of the questions, I've been a bit busy, and have alot of things going on and even more stress right now, so I just wanted to say thanks.
Any reason to use vermiculite over just using soil?Yea that's exactly what I use now!View attachment 4564908View attachment 4564911
Looking great buddy, but just my 2 cents, and my opinion. I'd let that lady veg for atleast another month, to run a lady at that size, I feel doing this method is just over kill, and alot of work for such a small harvest. I can consistently get anywhere from 1-2 pounds harvest(strain dependent) on a single sip. Only reason your not going to hit a pound on that run, would be not being patient and letting her grow.View attachment 4628163

Yea I've kinda noticed that, like really it's a weird feeling teaching and helping guys, feel like It was yesterday when I was asking how much and when do I water the girls... lmfaoI guess that I missed this. Yes, big reason, actually a few...Any reason to use vermiculite over just using soil?
I've got room for a 2nd SIP in my tent, but if I can I'd like to save some headroom by doing my 2nd SIP this way, instead of stacking 2 totes and using the bottom as the rez.
But vermiculite is tough to find local, and while I can order some online, was wondering why I couldnt just use soil? Is this something you've considered, or was the vermiculite just a personal choice when trying out different builds?
If theres no obvious reason not to, I may just try it with the corrugated pipe (ends covered in cheese clothe) and soil and see how things go
Also vermiculite isnt your only choice, honestly you can use almost about anything, lava rock, perlite, vermiculite, hydro coco stones(although I'm not sure how well the can wick) or pretty much anything that will wick the water, and wont bring about new issues.Any reason to use vermiculite over just using soil?

Yea, and my original plan was that I would re-veg this one at 2 weeks flower to fill the tent, but I have a White Whidow week 8 that i gotta give an extra week to (just cut one at 61 days, think it needs another week to be where I like it), so i decided not to reveg and just grow her on 1/2 the tent.Looking great buddy, but just my 2 cents, and my opinion. Again, just my opinion, she does look great for sure.
But heres an example, this lady was actually 2 ladies in a 30g sip. And together they yielded right at 2.3 pounds, in a 4x4 space! Granted it wasn't by choice letting her veg that long and get that big, just circumstances, and the way things played out, but it atleast can give you and idea of how long you can veg before flipping. But as I said, that's your ladies, you do as you plz, and they look great. Just I feel that's alot of work to not let her get to a proper size before flippingView attachment 4629601
Man, that puts the AK's that I saw in Iraq to shame! I was in charge of running the "mine detector" but we only used it for finding weapon caches in the ground. I almost felt sorry for Hodgie after seeing the weapons that they were shooting at us, it kind of made sense to why they couldn't hit shit when we got ambushed lol. Seriously, the AK's were rusty from being in the ground and literally fall apart in your hands. Things changed when the Marines pushed through Fallujah though, they pushed them into our sector in Baghdad and our ambushes started getting a little more complex and bad for us. I'm just rambling now... I'm just saying that you have a better AK than 75% of insurgents lol...Also vermiculite isnt your only choice, honestly you can use almost about anything, lava rock, perlite, vermiculite, hydro coco stones(although I'm not sure how well the can wick) or pretty much anything that will wick the water, and wont bring about new issues.
I only chose vermiculite, bc of 2 main reasons, one being its possibly the best, or close to the best thing when it comes to wicking up water, and 2 being it wont break down and become just more matter, and also ita very cheap locally for me. I can get enough to run 4 or 5 sips, for just under 20 bucks.
But hell man just bc the method I run works amazingly, and I get great results. That doesnt mean the way I run it, is the only or even the best way! It just happens to be what works best for me so far. If you do decide to switch it up a little then go for it buddy, all I ask is let us know and post the results. I will never claim to know everything, I still learn new things every day! The person who claims to know it all on any subject, more than likely is a dumbass and doesn't know shit!
For instance, I just recently learned how to build an AR from the stock to the muzzle! I've always loved guns, and changed out parts, but never knew how easy it was to build them.

You will fall in love with this method...This is my trial run with your method anyway, so it's nice just to see how everything is running before dedicating my whole tent lol.
I was infantry, so we were searching shit everyday. So, when we found something impressive, we would take it to the firing range a couple of days later. Anyways, my favorite rifle was a G3, which fired the same round as my M240 did 7.62x51mm. It looks similar to what you have... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_&_Koch_G3Also vermiculite isnt your only choice, honestly you can use almost about anything, lava rock, perlite, vermiculite, hydro coco stones(although I'm not sure how well the can wick) or pretty much anything that will wick the water, and wont bring about new issues.
