Lockdowns work.

Yup, we've had like 2490 deaths here.
Roughly 1600 of them were pensioners in care homes.
Of the 900 that are left, around 90% of them were over 60.
That leaves around 100 working age adults died from it and something like 82% of them had underlying health issues.
So in the whole of Scotland there's only been like 20, healthy, working age people die.
And like 3 or 4 children. Think there was one born it it too actually.
I'm not about to go spend half an hour finding links but if anyone wants to fact check that just be sure to use Scottish govt sites and not UK, English or the BBC as they're bumping the numbers up to make the English death toll seem less drastic.
Another 19 dead there today though and were on day 9 or 10 now with none :)
Cowbell lovers unite!

Oh, but it is so true, if only metaphorical, this is very apparent from contemporary observations of American society, Trump owns them mind and soul that is the worst kind of slavery, normally slaves don't commit suicide on their master's whim, no matter what color they happen to be in that moment of history. Not these guys.
Your ignorance on this subject would be laughable. I mean, think about it, (not you, you don't think, but other people) an aged white man in "Canada" is riffing on what it's like to be a black slave. Cringe worthy.

Ya know James the chain around a black man's neck was never as heavy, as the chain made of hate and fear that the Trumpers wear around their's. A black man never abased himself to a master, like these morons do with Trump, only their body's were owned, not their minds and souls. No Black people to the best of my knowledge committed suicide at their master's whim, but many died fighting for their freedom. Who is the bigger slave James, the black man in the antebellum south, or the modern Trumper, who is a fool, a traitor and Hell bent on personal and national suicide? MAGA means moron and anybody who wears the hat is one. Or carries Trump's water here!
Goodness, that is the perfect example of why people should stick to what they know. You sound like a Canadian Karen right there.

Fuckin right mate. I’m smiling now but under absolutely no illusion that the next wave could easily be a lot worse. Won’t be surprised if we end up back in full lockdown again but we’ve had UBI here for ages anyway so money isn’t really an issue for us thankfully.

Not much cause for concern in our backyard, we have a minority government and parliamentary inquiries are only a vote away, when American politics gets as boring as Canadian I figure I'm done. Social studies is also a hobby of mine though and this is the greatest show on earth at the moment, if it wasn't so tragic, it would be more amusing. Believe it or not, politics is distasteful to me, but we need to eat our greens too.
Well I beg to differ as there is much happening right here at home. The fucked up China response, the fucked up family profiting from a so called charity. The fucked up oil industry and all that goes with it........etc. But as I said, “oh well“ lol. I don’t care what you post, even if you are a Russian hehehe.

the charity thing was very political- we are never privy to everything. i trust your PM- you should too..his intentions are pure and just.

Actually, he only knows what he reads. Many of his posts have little to do with the US except some tangentially related news. As was pointed out, he doesn't live or vote here. So, no. He isn't attuned to our politics. He's attuned to his own and assumes we are like him. It's pretty ignorant.
Sorry fog but I just don’t get the full blown animosity. I know I can have a rousing debate with my partners from south of the border and we are still ok after. They don’t tell me to stop talking about it because I’m Canadian ...... fuck they love Trumpy so it can get intense lol. But yes there are moments that I would like to tell DIY to shut the fuck up lol. So ya I get it I guess lol. Ok carry on ;).

I thought so at first (sunny ways) but that trust is wavering, you know mom got paid around 300,000 right? There are not any better choices so kind of limited right now as to a better choice. I was hoping Obama would move here and perhaps take over as the liberal leader.........so cool.

How many years did you drone on about Trump being impeached and even arguing with me when I said there was no way he could be removed from office?

This was posted in 2018.

It reeks of your ignorance on the subject. Your ignorance is understandable because you don't live in the US. I'm not calling you stupid, just ignorant.
Ya that was a foreseen conclusion that he would not be removed by pretty much the whole world lol. Oh well lol

Methinks if a lockdown works or not is more decided by the factor at WHOM that lockdown is IMPOSED UPON...
no one is being 'locked down' friend- it's 'safer at home' and it's not even being done anywhere in the US currently but should be.

the whole point here is when you open your mouth everything in your lungs comes out via droplets; it hangs in the air and an uninfected person ends up breathing it in therefore it makes sense to 'say it not spray it'..you're being a hero! think about all the lives YOU are saving..someone's infant..their parent and they're doing same for you.

the guy who refused to wear a mask and attend covid party because it's a hoax.

Honestly we don’t talk much about that and the last time we were together was two years ago. The discussion was more economic. As far as race I really can’t and don’t comment on that because it’s been 25 years since I was allowed into the States (unfortunate misunderstanding lol) so my first hand knowledge of what is going on there is limited. Also I have no ideal what it would be like to be a person of colour but I’m sure it’s not a very pleasant existence. Also I don’t try and get to vocal as they can be quite devoted to the guy for some reason.

I gave this a like but seriously what a fucking moron the governor is, I just don’t see the reasoning? Is there something I don’t get? We have a pretty much a province wide mandate now and it’s actually become just a thing now and forced the dumb ones to wear one. you carry your mask with you. All stores have hand sanitizer stations at the door and they limit the numbers allowed in, a pain waiting but it is what it is.
Not sure if you caught this when it happened, but Kemp said on April 2nd that he had just learned of asymptomatic spread, after every fifth grader in the country knew this. Even if true, he was a fool for saying it out loud.

Excerpt from the story. . . .

Even after Kemp relented, he was widely mocked for saying he had just learned that people infected with COVID-19 could transmit the disease even if they were not exhibiting symptoms. “These individuals could have been infecting people before they ever felt bad,” Kemp said during a news conference Wednesday, when he announced his intent to impose the shelter-at-home requirement. “We didn’t know that until the last 24 hours.”

And now he is suing Atlanta and Athens to stop their mask mandate. Mostly because 45 came to Atlanta and the mayor pointed out he was breaking the law by not wearing a mask.
