Growing in a small space? LED/CFL's

So I have grown outdoors before but where I live isn't the best climate for growing so I'm planning on doing an indoor grow. The space I'm thinking of is only 1x2x2 feet.

Lighting
I have had a look at different LED lights and have narrowed it down to what I think would be the best options, the Viparspectra 300w or MarsHydro TS600. My only concern is with the height of my grow space, will the plant grow towards the light and end up getting burned? In this case if I still wanted to use this space my only option would be to use CFL's but this 'cost effective' method would probably end up costing around the same after buying different fixtures, extension cords, etc. And also be a lot more work to do and I will probably end up wanting to upgrade to LED's in the future anyway.

I don't know why I titled this as if I was going to have multiple paragraphs but eh oh well, if you have any other thoughts or advice on growing in a small space let me know, thanks any help is greatly appreciated!!

If you looked at the lights I mentioned in my post you would have seen one of the lights was 7cm and the other 3.5, either way the light would be on the outside anyway. Any constructive criticism is welcomed but snarky remarks are useless.
I am well aware it is a small grow but we all have to start somewhere and I'm just working with what I've got.

Are you limited to 2ft high?
Because you want 12" between plant and light with a light like that, otherwise you would be better building one from strips yourself which can be only a few inch above the plant, saves you some valuable space.

Don't forget you want a fan and filter in that space too and room for a circulation fan.

Saying the lights are outside the 2' area is a pretty important aspect of your grow, probably should have added that

Because you want 12" between plant and light with a light like that, otherwise you would be better building one from strips yourself which can be only a few inch above the plant, saves you some valuable space.

Not sure he understands the viper, I have, needs 16" of distance from the plant

Do you have the option of getting a tent? Maybe something small like a 2x2x5ft? I think the 1x1x2ft space is going to be very difficult to manage.

If that's what you think I need, just don't have a lot of money to spend, I'll have a look, if the space I have is just too small I'll have to buy a tent.

That was literally the question I was asking (would it get too close and burn) and that's why I was contemplating CFL's but okay

I've seen experienced growers donut for fun, but it's a tuff one for sure

4' is about minimum, 5-6' is much better

Okay thanks probably just going to get a tent so I have more room anyway, but do you have any sources of information on building a light from strips just out of curiosity?

Okay I saw someone stick a viper on top of a PC case no taller than 2 feet somewhere so thought it might be possible but never saw an actual grow out of it so idk just gonna get 5' tent probably

If you really want to grow good weed with descent results, a 5' is a good start

I've had good results with blurple and QBs in my 5' tents. I usually use them for just veg, but breeding projects I've flowered in them

I used that same viper light in one, worked just fine

You can buy a 2x2x5.for about 189.which will included. Everything u need for a nice little grow m8.. Iam running a Mars hydro. 48.300w. Its a good little light for the money and helps u keep temps spot on 2..works perfect in the tent gl and happy growing.
