What size tent is this? I'm doing an auto run next and have a 4X4 and want to try and run 9 plants... like you are but I think it would be tight so maybe need to upgrade to 5x5.
do they look fine or stunned?

I am doing 10 amnesia haze auto flowers in my 4x8 atm. All in 5gal pots. If you have questions I would be happy to help yea out as much as possible.

Its a 5x5 with 1000w HPS. 11 plants (i had 12 in there but one never flowered so it got the boot). There is a guy on here doing 9 smoothies in a 4x4 and its tight but they fit. Different strains get different size. The blue dream stays really small. The Gelato is the best strain ive had from them and is also on the smaller side.
just a question, my soil is mostly peatmoss n perlite, i never watered/fed more than one liter n half each during the vegetation stage, now I'm watering with two liters, each three days till they're dry, do you think this is so little? should i water more in my future grows? or this is about right, I thought i don't follow the runnoff rule as this is peatmoss, was worried it will hold too much water if I do 20% run offs

Your doing fine.....just never let your soil dry out completely it will stunt you plant and compromise you yield sorry for the late reply...

I would like to say the plants look OK but I am confused by autoflowers, as I’ve never grown any. (Might worth a try, eventually, for science.) Do they just flower and die at a certain stage, or can you keep them going? Like, if the OP isn’t satisfied with the size, can he just keep feeding and watering, or will the plant shrug that off and reach senescence anyway?

Autoflowers suck. Dont even bother learning anything about them. They flower whenever they want and end of flower is end of flower, no way to get them any bigger lol. Cant clone them. Not as potent. Just finicky little bitches all around.

LOL, that’s a pretty strong “con” then! I have to admit, your post has left me more intrigued, LOL. „They flower whenever they want?” That is kinda fascinating. In all honesty, it sounds like a pain in the ass, but also curious about their habits. Have you noticed any kind of possible “trigger” that forces them to flower? I honestly don’t feel any great urge to go down that rabbit hole but i’d love to know why I shouldn’t, if that makes sense

Autoflowers like the name suggests flower on their own regardless of light schedule. They will flower based on their genetics, that's their "trigger". I started the autos I have running now as an experiment with an old light and uncontrolled grow space. But now they are in my tent and I love that I can run them on a 20/4 light schedule and check in on them at any point during the day. Everyone has different tastes and likes. Mephisto Genetics is a quality autoflower seed source if you'd like to try them out.

So basically the flowering is automatically triggered by the plant’s sexual maturity? The reason this sounds problematic is that what if they start flowering before putting on any real size? Do they stop growing when they flower? I might give it a shot someday but the control that photoperiod offers seems like something I wouldn’t want to give up.

Yes... this is the problem with autos.
This one is as big as its gonna get. Started flowering almost as soon as it poked through the dirt.

They flower based on how old they are from seed. It definitely can be hit or miss if you've never run that specific strain and company before (you won't know how it'll grow yet). Some people like them for setting up perpetual grows in one grow space. You can start one, wait a month start the next, and so on. The second will continue to grow in veg while the first is in flower, all under the same light schedule. You can also run them to supplement your photo grows if you have extra veg space left over. I'm happy with the size of the one's I am running now, fit my tent perfect.

I could plant another seed out of the same pack and it might be 2 foot tall. no stability with autos. Vastly different phenos.
