Man I wish I owned that idea. lol
It is a great idea to make money. A friend was telling me about these a while back. Do you use them? I just don't see it.....in a production environment who's starting with seed?

In my experience a plant grown from seed isn't normally ready to flower until it's at least a month old. At this point you can put your plant on a 12hours lights on and 12 hours lights off and this will trigger flowering in a Photoperiod plant. Within week or so your plant will show it's sex and then you can put it back on an 18/6 light schedule which will put it back in to veg. Personally I don't really like this method as I feel it puts unnecessary stress on a plant and they normally show their sex in veg in about a month when they become sexually mature. Another way would be to take a clone from your plant, once its rooted put it in to flower and then you'll find out the sex of your main plant from that.

I don't grow from seed much at all. But if I was shotgunning a lot of beans to find mothers then I would use this to eliminate a shit ton of male plants from the mix, saving having to pot and grow them out.

I wish they could detect a hermie, maybe they can, would be nice to eliminate all pollen producers.

Yeah I can see that.

Eliminate hermies yeah but not all pollen producers........I like to chuck a bit :)

I wonder if they can detect hermies

Newbie here. My current lady was started inside under LEDs and at approximately 30 days I flipped her to 12/12 and within 24 hours she showed me her sex. I put her straight back into a 18 hour light cycle with no issues. She is currently outside under full sun and pretty happy.

I have friend that has a state permitted medical grow company in Florida and they use a company called "ModernCanna" down there to do all their sexing. And as for hermies, I have been told that they cannot detect hermaphrodites in females because all females carry that gene. It was explained to me like so, many, many years ago... a female cannabis plants truly only flowers because she wants to do her part in trying to keep he spices alive, they send millions of pistils out to capture pollen, and if towards the end of flowering the plants has not captured any pollen, that gene, what I call the survival gene, triggers a hermaphrodite response, where the plant will try to self pollinate its self in order to have a chance at keeping its spices alive! But that hermaphrodite response can also be triggered by a environmental hostility, any kind of stress! And when that happens, I 100% believe, that's totally a "stress thing" because I have seen even clones hermie, when 100(s) of other clones from that same mother have never hermied!
