Long story short: I've got some canna Coco natural which I have learned is charged with wood cellulose ! Is anyone able to tell me what I problems I can expect from this and or the best way to use it. It's mixed 50/50 with a different brand of Coco and I cannot afford to ditch it. ???

If you’ve got any CALMAG premix some up to EC 1.0/500ppm/700ppm depending on calibration.
Charge your coco natural and other coco mix with this solution.
once a month use the same mix strength for 1 feeding with nothing else.
Thanks for the advice . Here's irony: the coco I have mixed it with(atami) has mineral lime and calcium nitrate in it. Am I right in thinking this is eliminates the need for calmag?

If your using tap water you shouldn't need calmag mate. Find out the ec of your water to determine wether it's soft or hard and buy nutes accordingly. Lots of companies do both versions to save you pissing about with calmag.
Lots of folk will tell you that you can't grow coco without 1ec+ of it.
Just as many will tell you that leds make you need even more but here I am.
Coco and leds with soft water at 48ppm so almost r/o quality and I don't need it.
I just soak it in 0.4ec veg nutes and off I go. Never had a single issue.

And have you used the coco natural unbuffered by canna before?
Atami I have found to have a really high EC straight out of the bag.
So don’t follow my advice about the Calmag.

I haven't used the Coco natural b4 and bought it originally for a easy basic DIY soil along with John innes number 3 and some rich loam. Ended with thrips eating everything.
I've got hard water 8.5 out of the tap and I'm using GHE Flora trio because I liked the idea of the varied mix of the grow and bloom throughout, plus the micro. It appealed to me. Now I have some I discover how long it's been around and how it's something that came from a NASA scientist; I am getting hopeful of it. I've got an adjustable ballast and 3 dual spectrum bulbs (250-400&600) so I can save on electric as much as possible, and apart from a bottle of redundant calmag I've got a bottle of plant magic rizo boost . And sachet of powder PK boost .

Thanks for the advice. Yes I am finding the atami has a through the roof level of nutrients,if that's accurate? I'm a bit of a cowboy gardener to date! I've never used EC!!! But now fully understand the importance of such measures. Having said that I can only quote the ppm with the Atari/canna natural mix as I don't understand the EC reading yet. Ppm is in the thousands!!!!! This is after I have repotted into the mix from,and you'll laugh at this, what I thought was a Coco and perlite mix but turned out I'd got the wrong bag and it was a commercial soil mix. Still that explains the slow seedling growth . Yeah. I have repotted into 2gal fabric pots with view to going 12/12 asap. 6plants in a 120sq tent with a 600dual spectrum . I've just given them their second watering of 5.7ph water ( no nutes yet) . Should I give them some of the micro out of the flora trio and I am thinking some root boost. Any advice welcome .
That was a brave comment on the BLM etc situation! I'd steer clear personally. Ha.
PS. That's the run off I've measured in the thousands of ppm and I put in pH 5.7 and it came out 6.2 I was sort of pleased with this.

So your coco mix isn’t actually a coco mix it’s a soil mix with some Atami coco mixed into it?
yes and no. I had the seedlings in a soil mix without realising but have repotted them into the coco!?!?

If was me I would start using nutrients now but lightly.
How old are your plants?
If they are 4 weeks of veg or more then give nutrients at around 500ppm and keep feeding at that until you see some lower growth begin to fade a little then you can increase.
personally I wouldn’t feed any higher than 750ppm-850ppm at any point!

with coco it’s better to use less nutrients more frequently!

I use tap water and most definitely still need to add full strength calmag in every feed. Stop giving awful information to new growers.

Fuck off mate. Nothing wrong with any of the growing advice I give out. I told him to check wether it's hard or soft water to determine wether he needs it.
I also told him that in order to not need it you need to buy hard or soft water specific nutes accordingly.
Should try reading posts before kickin off.

Yeah it's canna coco I use mate. The normal one. Not the pro plus or Whatever it's called. Got lots of sediment in it so need to give it a good rinse out first but other than that it's awesome. 30% perilite in the mix.
Then just feed 200ppm for seedlings.
500ppm veg.
800ppm bloom.
Feed every day to run off and it's pretty hard to go wrong.
Only drama I get with it is iron def when the preflower stretch hits. I do use calmag for that as mine has iron in it for that reason but i only use it for about 3 weeks.
If they ain't asking they don't get it.
Less is best and all that jazz eh

It's handy stuff to have like. Helps buffer ph amongst other things. A lot of new growers particularly have a hard time dialing things in. Changing things a lot while they figure it out.
One of the top problems on these forums is calmag dramas in coco. I'm aware of cation exchange etc. Coco does need calmag but nowhere near what people think.
You generally find that people who use lots of it and benefit also have at least one bad habbit. Usually itd not watering it often enough or not enough volume when they do.
Too big a pot is also a common one that has the same effects.
The ph gets shafted and causes lockouts. Looks like mag def (Edit-- at fisrt).
Adding calmag fixes that by buffering the ph so a lot of folks get convinced they need high levels of it.
When in reality they should be upping the feed volume and being more accurate with ph.
Not saying that's always the case. Each nute brand is made differently and everyone's water is different but a lot of the time it is.
And you need to add quite a bit of calmag to get bad effects from it so it's hard to convince people they don't need as much.
