I just picked up two P1000s from viparspectra for a 4x4. So far so good for Veg.
I run 1100 watts in 4x4. Run 1400 here not long back.To much? No
In a 4x4 that gives you 50w/sq.ft. which is the minimum I would run for flowering.
50w/sq.ft 100% covers what you need, but I tend to like to over do things
hey man, I was looking for led lighting for the past week... I moved to a hot climate/somewhat tropical country so I didn’t know if hps would be the best thing for me... but you think it would be worth it if I add a small ac? It’s for a 4x4 tent as wellI'm in the states.
The $104 is only for the reflector. The ballast is another $150. Then you need the bulbs too.
If you're really interested in a 1kW, this complete kit would do it for you. Both MH/HPS bulbs, 6" air cooled hood, 1000w ballast, pulleys and a timer...less than $200 for everything but an exhaust fan...
I can't give ya a straight answer on that one. I only started growing June 2019 and have only ever used HPS. I know some people out there are killing it with LED, but the way I see it is... a HPS/MH light is a grow light. It's like the naturally aspirated V8 Chevy pickup that's gone 250k miles with no oil change or problems. Led's are being used as grow lights. They're the really nice/fast/sleek Ferrari you just went 200+ mph in for 250 miles before a gasket blew and now you're out $3,000.hey man, I was looking for led lighting for the past week... To be fair 80% are watering or laziness issues that dont have to do with equipment at all.I can't give ya a straight answer on that one. I only started growing June 2019 and have only ever used HPS. One day maybe, but not yet.
You already have the lightning. I'd invest in the AC.
Watch these forums and ask yourself this....with all the problems people are asking for help with, besides getting temps under control, how many of those posters having issues are running HPS?
Not many by my count...
So with that insight we're supposed to infer that it just so happens people who don't know how to water or are just lazy seem more prone to buy Led lights than hps.To be fair 80% are watering or laziness issues that dont have to do with equipment at all.
No, but I have seen people believe switching light methodologies will help their grows. So with that insight we're supposed to infer that it just so happens people who don't know how to water or are just lazy seem more prone to buy Led lights than hps.
K.
I completely agree. People would rather blame their equipment than to just maybe, accept the fact they fucked something up and they aren't perfect. No, but I have seen people believe switching light methodologies will help their grows.
If you have leds or hps and are having issues, It likely isnt the light but how it is used.
You seem combative today though?

definitly will look Into this kit, will try it out and see how it worksI'm in the states.

they are full spectrum for the human eye which is what they are made for. they lack some of the wavelengths plants use (violet,UV) some growers add UV bulbs to LED and HPS grow rooms. currently quality LED grow lights cost to much@.Smoke is on point.
It happens to even the "Best" of the led growers. They get that strain that no matter how much cal-mag or whatever concoction they keep throwing at the plant, they just can't win the health battle. Especially when growing non-cannabis plants. Some even go as far as to keep their Hortilux Blue Metal Halide on Standby to nurse those varieties back to health (you know who you are )
Why? Simple answer - SPECTRUM. Anyone who believes the majority of the white / red led's on the market are "Full Spectrum", I've got a bridge to sell you
Last I checked we are growing plants and not lighting up our work shop.they are full spectrum for the human eye which is what they are made for. they lack some of the wavelengths plants use (violet,UV) some growers add UV bulbs to LED and HPS grow rooms. currently quality LED grow lights cost to much
